What Is Be a Santa to a Senior?
Be a Santa to a Senior is a nationwide program that provides gifts and companionship to seniors who might not otherwise receive one during the holiday season. At Home Instead, we partner with local non-profit and community organizations to identify seniors who could use extra cheer. These remarkable individuals rely on the kindness and generosity of our community and local volunteers to make their holidays memorable.
A Legacy of Giving
Since its inception in 2003, Be a Santa to a Senior has seen incredible growth and impact:
2.1 Million Gifts Given: Over the years, more than 2.1 million gifts have been lovingly given to seniors, bringing smiles and warmth to their holidays.
750,000 Senior Holidays Brightened: With the program, three-quarters of a million seniors have experienced the joy of a brighter holiday season.
65,000 Volunteers Dispatched: The dedication of 65,000 volunteers has been instrumental in making this program a success, ensuring that seniors are not forgotten during this time of year.
250 Offices that Have Spread Joy: Be a Santa to a Senior has extended its reach through 250 offices, spreading happiness to aging adults nationwide.
How You Can Make a Difference
The local Gift Tree is the heart of the Be a Santa to a Senior program. You can participate by:
Select an Ornament: Visit a local gift tree and choose an ornament containing a senior's gift request.
Purchase Your Gift: Buy the gift and return it to the delivery box located at the tree.
Spread Joy: Participating Home Instead offices will collect and distribute gifts to aging adults in need, ensuring that their holiday season is filled with love and care.
