Home Instead of Brunswick County is looking for caring and compassionate Caregivers—we call ours Care Professionals—to become a part of our team and join our mission of expanding the world’s capacity to care. Home Instead provides a variety of non-medical services that allow aging adults to remain in their home and meet the challenges of aging with dignity, care and compassion.

  • Do you have an upbeat, positive attitude?
  • Are you prompt and reliable?
  • Can you take initiative and do more than what's required?
  • Are you honest and do you follow the rules?
  • Is your appearance neat, clean, and professional?
  • Are you at least 18 years old?
  • Can you pass a criminal background check, DMV check, and a drug screening?

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Companionship and conversation
  • Light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation
  • Medication and appointment reminders
  • Alzheimer’s Care
  • Ability to treat and care for aging adults and their property with dignity and respect
  • Ability to communicate with clients in a friendly and compassionate manner
  • Complete a criminal background check, motor vehicle record check and drug screen
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and valid auto insurance (required if driving clients)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must meet or exceed the minimum qualifications for required background checks. We do not hire individuals who have been charged or convicted of a crime.
  • CNA training NOT required. No previous caregiving experience necessary.
  • Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Reliable transportation and valid / current automobile insurance.
  • Able to follow spoken and written instructions and document services provided.
  • Able to function independently in the home setting with minimal direct supervision.
  • Able to maintain satisfactory relationships with clients, family, and team members.
  • Able to stand, sit, walk, reach, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 25 pounds.
