Home Instead of Vandalia, Ohio and Miami County: Our History & Mission

Home Instead has been providing high-quality senior home care services in the North Dayton area since 2014. When our franchise founder Lori Reeves retired in 2023, Alex Gonzalez purchased the business to lead with one purpose in mind: to serve and support the local communities of Northern Montgomery, Miami, and Preble Counties while providing excellent in-home care services for the elderly.

To Us, It’s Personal®

Today, Home Instead is one of the most trusted and reliable caregiving service providers to seniors in Vandalia, Tipp City, Troy, and Piqua (as well as surrounding areas) because we are passionate about our towns and the wonderful people who live within them.

Alex’s journey started in 2016 when he began working in the marketing department of a top-ten U.S. healthcare staffing company based out of Cincinnati. He saw firsthand the challenges that seniors faced in getting the care they needed and knew he wanted to make a difference in their lives.

Over time, Alex gained a deep appreciation for the role that providers and caregivers play in the lives of seniors, seeing that these dedicated professionals are often the only lifeline that our elderly population has. This belief hit closer to home when his stepfather, a Parkinson’s and Lewy body dementia patient, began in-home care as he aged. His family selected Home Instead and has received excellent care over the years, which put everyone’s minds at ease.

When he had the opportunity to purchase a Home Instead franchise, he jumped at the chance. It was the perfect way to combine his industry experience with his passion for helping seniors age peacefully at home.

His mission is to expand the world’s capacity to care by building a culture focused on quality and compassionate service, putting clients first, and going above and beyond to ensure that their needs are met. He will remain committed to continuing to provide the best possible care to clients, and to making a difference in the lives of seniors within the communities he serves.
