Gadsden July 2021 Client & CAREGiver Spotlight -  Eloise R. & Emily E.

Meet Eloise and her Professional CAREGiver, Emily, Gadsden’s Client and Professional CAREGiver Spotlight team for July! Eloise has needed some companionship since her husband passed away in 2007, after 40+ years of marriage. They were very close, and she is still very close to her children. Her husband worked for Goodyear and traveled a lot, so Eloise held some jobs here and there, but needed to be home to take care of the children. Ms. Eloise is a member of the Porch Creek Indian tribe through her father.

Ms. Eloise still lives by herself and looks forward to Emily’s visits. She calls Emily her grandchild to anyone who asks. Emily is a caregiver to everyone in her life and decided she wanted to do it professionally when her grandmother moved in with her and needed care. She still goes to relieve her other grandmother’s primary caregivers monthly, even though it is in another state. Her whole life is caregiving, and it shows in the way she cares for Ms. Eloise. Emily likes to keep Ms. Eloise active and can get her to do things that she would not do for others. They like to go out to the Senior center and Emily with do all the activities with Ms. Eloise, including exercise, singing and bingo. On Fridays you may find the pair at the farmers market, shopping for local goodies. Ms. Eloise loves Emily’s cooking, especially her potato salad, pintos, and cornbread. We are certainly glad Emily and Ms. Eloise found each other and we hope they continue to “Share Their Hearts” for many more years!
