Gadsden August 2021 Client & CAREGiver Spotlight - Marcelline B. & Danika D.
Meet Marcelline and her Professional CAREGiver, Danika, Gadsden’s Spotlight Team for August! Ms. Marcelline is a retired high school math teacher, and her husband is a retired math professor. They have three girls, one boy and six grandkids. They have lived 60 years in Jacksonville, AL and have been married for 61 years! We chose to honor this team because Danika has been there for Ms. Marcelline after her rehab and Marcelline is doing so much better now! They are a great duo.
Danika is a retired nurse and has also done private care before coming to home instead after her daughter, who was a Home Instead ambassador, encouraged her to do so. Danika is a caregiver at heart. She comes in the mornings and helps Mr. Marcelline out of bed and makes her breakfast. Sometimes they will get Krispy Kreme raspberry filled donuts, which are Marcelline’s favorite. They like to take walks outside to see the flowers and wildlife that surround Marcelline’s home. Sometimes they see wild turkeys, deer, rabbits, stray cats, and various other wildlife on the property. There are a lot of trees and a creek nearby, so Ms. Marcelline can get out and enjoy nature.
The pair likes to eat out sometimes and will take McDonald’s to the duck park or get some Popeye’s chicken strips. We are certainly glad Ms. Marcelline and Danika have each other and we hope they can continue their great friendship for many years to come!
