Gadsden April 2021 Client & CAREGiver Spotlight - Eloise R. & Haylie A.
Meet Gadsden’s April Client and Professional CAREGiver℠ Spotlight Team of Ms. Eloise and her caregiver, Haylie A. Ms. Eloise was born in southern Alabama and got married in 1955. The couple went on to have three boys and one girl. Ms. Eloise was a cashier in various department stores before her retirement. Haylie worked in nursing homes as a CNA before coming to Home Instead. She wanted to work one-on-one with clients and give them the personal attention that they deserve.
Together, Ms. Eloise and Haylie make quite a team! Ms. Eloise was skeptical about receiving services, but once Haylie arrived for her first shift, all of that went out the window. They have been together since March of 2021, and although that is only a short time, they already have their daily routine down pat. First, Ms. Eloise will make coffee for them both. When Haylie arrives, Ms. Eloise will announce that she has coffee and Haylie will either bring cookies or cook egg sandwiches for breakfast. They will then watch “The Young and the Restless” and have good conversation.
Ms. Eloise also likes to dance at the George Wallace Senior Center and sometimes goes to casinos to play bingo. Ms. Eloise said she prayed for God to send her a good person and she knew that prayer was answered when she first met Haylie. Ms. Eloise says simply, “She’s just who I like”. Haylie feels the same replying, “She’s like a grandma to me”.
We are so thankful that Ms. Eloise found Haylie and that they Share Their Hearts daily. We are proud of the beautiful bond between them and how Haylie helps Ms. Eloise stay safely at “Home Instead”.
