Meet Our Team
Posey family

John and Sally Posey, Owners

John is passionate about honoring and caring for the seniors in Raleigh, Cary, Apex, and all of Wake County. He has served as the owner of Home Instead Senior Care in Wake County since 2002 and considers this business a ministry to both their clients and wonderful CAREGivers. As a native of Raleigh, John received his Bachelor of Social Work degree from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where he also played baseball. Following college he spent two years doing mission work in Tanzania.

Sally, a UNC trained Physical Therapist, has played an integral role in the growth of the company for many years. She is proud to be part of the solution to the growing need for home care in Wake County as Home Instead seeks to change the face of aging.

​John and Sally are blessed to serve along with their wonderful staff and CAREGivers. They genuinely appreciate the many compassionate CAREGivers they employ who understand the tremendous impact they have on the life of each client. John and Sally's administrative team and CAREGivers share a common purpose of helping improve the quality of life of the seniors in Wake County.​

Tiffany Johnson

Tiffany Johnson, General Manager

Tiffany Johnson is a native to Eastern North Carolina. She grew up in Small and currently resides in Bridgeton. Tiffany has worked with the public in customer service for the past 10 years. She has a degree in Applied Science for Medical Assisting as well as vocational training for Phlebotomy, CPR & First Aid and is actively pursuing her education at Pamlico Community College. Tiffany is very family oriented and loves spending time with her family. She also enjoys the outdoors trail walking, camping, going to the beach and anything else involving fresh air and sunshine. Always positive, Tiffany is a joy to be around and we are very happy to have her in our Home Instead family.
Peg Boyle - Senior Care Advocate

Peg Boyle, Senior Care Advocate

Peg joined our Home Instead Senior Care Team in March of 2014, however she has worked with the Home Instead Senior Care Company since 2000. Peg has degrees in Marketing, Sociology and Recreation Management. She has put her vast array of skills to work with the Home Instead in Raleigh by starting as a CAREGiver and working her way up through many different positions from staff coordinator, recruitment coordinator, to office manager as well as other positions. Peg moved to New Bern in May of 2013 with her Husband Dave who is a retired high school football coach and teacher. She has two grown children and enjoys cooking, boating and gardening. Peg's hard work, skills, experience, and knowledge of the company make her a perfect fit for us here in the New Bern Office. She has a plethora of knowledge to share and we are extremely lucky to have her.​​​​
Amanda Garner - Senior Care Advocate

Amanda Garner, Senior Care Advocate

Amanda Garner joined our office staff in January 2016. She came to us as a CAREGiver in September 2014 following two and a half years as a CAREGiver with the Raleigh, NC Home Instead Senior Care office. In addition to her work with Home Instead Senior Care, she has worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant and in Medical Transportation. Married ten years to her best friend, Keith, she has three amazing stepsons and enjoys spending her time with family and pets. As a family, they attend church regularly, love going to the beach, cooking, fishing, games and exploring the Crystal Coast. She has the heart of a CAREGiver and we are fortunate and proud to have her on our team.​
Monica Sheffield - Staff Coordinator

Monica Sheffield, Staff Coordinator

Monica Sheffield joins our staff highly experienced in our mission and purpose. Originally from Tallahassee, Florida, she married a US Marine and moved to Manassas, Virginia where she served four years as a CAREGiver™ with Home Instead Senior Care. She then moved to our area with her husband, son, daughter, and five dogs. She served as a CAREGiver here for two years and demonstrated a heart to serve. She has an Associates Degree in Medical Assisting and a bachelor's degree in Health Science. She feels called to care and nurture others and always wanted to work in this field. Her experience, education, and desire to serve make her a great addition to our staff. Her goal is to purchase and operate her own Home Instead Senior Care franchise.

Chris Chagnon, Recruitment and Engagement Coordinator

​Chris comes to Home Instead with a great deal of administrative experience both in and out of the Health/Home Care area. The daughter of a career Army officer, Chris has lived all over the United States as well as Germany. She was born in Massachusetts, but happily moved to NC in 1985 where she raised her three children. She has three grandchildren. Chris enjoys traveling, wine tasting, listening to live music, the beach, all things Disney World and time spent with her family. We are pleased she has joined our family.
Kim Koonce, RN

Kim Koonce - Registered Nurse

Kim is a native to Eastern North Carolina.  She was born in New Bern and lived in Pamlico County throughout her childhood. After graduating high school, she worked at Tryon Palace for several years and then as a medical assistant for a local doctor’s office. It was during her time as a medical assistant she decided to pursue her lifelong dream of helping others, so she applied for and was accepted to the nursing program.  Graduating in the spring of 2016 she began working for a community hospital while caring for a neighbor that has full time live in care. She and her husband live in Jones County with their 5 dogs, 2 cats, ducks and chickens. When not tending to her small farm she enjoys all things outdoors, especially gardening and fishing as well as spending quality time with loved ones.
Team Member Holly Briggs

Holly Briggs - Registered Nurse

Holly Briggs was born and raised in Morehead City. At 14, she had open heart surgery and decided then she wanted to become a nurse. Holly went to Nursing School in Virginia and moved back to Morehead City in 1981. She worked with Carteret Health Care for about 10 years, and then went into Home Health for about 10 more years then finishing up as a School Nurse. Holly has four beautiful daughters, three of which live in Morehead. She remarried in 2016 and lives with her husband, 3 dogs, and 3 cats. Holly and her husband are in business with 3 friends and own and operate a Bottle Shop in Atlantic Beach called AB Bottle Co. Additionally, she has her own business making soaps, lotions, and Dog Bones from beer grain. With all she has going on, she missed nursing and we are excited to have Holly as part of our Home Instead family.
Team Member Debra

Debra DeGeare-Registered Nurse

Debra DeGeare joins us after a long nursing career including Carteret Health, a home hospice, and with the inpatient Hospice facility, Crystal Coast Hospice House located in Newport.  She is a Certified Hospice Nurse and a Pharmacy Technician.  Debra has lived in North Carolina since 1972.  She and her husband, Ron, have been married 36 years and have two sons and a daughter.  They owned a Subway sandwich franchise in James City for twenty years.  They enjoy family, friends, and taking trips in their RV.
