Lorena's journey in senior care began with a deeply personal experience: witnessing her grandmother's struggle with dementia and her family's challenges in finding reliable care at home. Motivated by this, she pursued a Bachelor’s in Healthcare Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UT Rio Grande Valley.  After graduation, Lorena started her career as a floor nurse at a transplant hospital in San Antonio before transitioning to hospice nursing in 2017 and later obtaining her Master's in Nursing from Texas A&M Corpus Christi in 2021.

Throughout her nursing career, especially in hospice care, Lorena observed the gap in support for seniors living at home and the strain on family caregivers. Determined to make a difference, she wanted to help seniors maintain independence in their own homes for as long as possible.

In discussions with her husband, William, they both recognized a shared desire to address these challenges and provide quality home care for seniors. This shared passion led them to pursue opportunities with Home Instead in Midland, Texas, with the goal of serving the West Texas community with compassionate and reliable care.

Lorena and William are driven by a shared vision to positively impact the lives of seniors and their families in West Texas. Their commitment to providing quality care reflects their dedication to enhancing the well-being and independence of those they serve.

Meet Al, our General Manager and proud Texan native. Al is a Texas Tech Red Raider with an extensive 20-year journey in Telecom management. Beyond the office, Al is a devoted family man, wearing the hats of both a loving husband and a dedicated father.

In addition to his diverse background, Al is on a mission within our company – a mission to position us in a way that enables us to make a meaningful impact on the aging and Veteran community. With a heartfelt commitment, he seeks to leverage our resources to support and enhance the lives of as many individuals in the aging and Veteran community as possible.

While his professional prowess is evident, Al is more than just a leader; he's a sports enthusiast, a skilled handyman, and an unapologetic TV addict. Away from the corporate hustle, you'll find him cheering for his favorite teams, tackling DIY projects, and indulging in his guilty pleasure of binge-watching TV series.

One of Al's greatest strengths lies in his passion for connecting with people from all walks of life. He thrives on understanding diverse perspectives, making him not just a manager but a leader who values the unique contributions of each team member.

His life philosophy is summed up in a quirky yet profound saying: "Don’t sweat the petty things, and don’t pet the sweaty things." This philosophy reflects Al's laid-back yet focused approach to both work and life.

Get to know the man behind the manager—Al is more than just a Texan; he's a dynamic individual bringing a touch of Southern charm, a wealth of experience, and a genuine interest in the people he works with, all rooted in his proud heritage as a first-generation American of Mexican descent. As the Client Care Coordinator at Home Instead, Megan is committed to providing support, guidance, and advocacy to help individuals maintain independence within the comfort of their homes. With a rich background spanning over 10 years in education and case management, Megan has served vulnerable populations through organizations focused on managed healthcare, children and family services, and early intervention programs.

Megan's sincere passion lies in understanding the unique circumstances of each individual and tailoring the best mix of services and resources to meet their specific needs and preferences. Armed with a Master's degree in Special Education from Eastern New Mexico University, her academic journey emphasized cultivating compassionate, individualized support systems.

In her current role, Megan draws on her extensive experience and education to foster meaningful client relationships. Recognizing the responsibility and privilege of playing a role in someone's healthcare journey, she is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of care for her clients at Home Instead. Megan's expertise and empathetic approach make her a valuable asset to the Home Instead team.

Imelda embarked on her journey with Home Instead in 2014 as a Care Professional, a decision she deems one of the best in her life. This experience not only taught her patience but also cultivated a special love for the elderly. With a professional history at ECISD, Sitel Corporation, and CGS, transitioning to Home Instead marked a shift that was not only a career change but a deeply fulfilling endeavor, both mentally and spiritually.

In June 2016, recognizing her dedication and skills, Imelda transitioned to the office staff as a Recruitment & Engagement Coordinator. Grateful for the warm welcome and working under caring owners, she found unique satisfaction in her role - playing a part in enhancing someone's life by connecting them with a caregiver who brings genuine smiles.

Continuing to climb the career ladder, Imelda recently earned a well-deserved promotion to HR Coordinator. This new role showcases her growth within Home Instead, further solidifying her commitment to contributing meaningfully to the team and the lives of those they serve.

Alma's journey with our team began in 2019 when she joined as a Care Professional, building upon her experience in private caregiving since 2013. Discovering her passion for enriching the lives of seniors, Alma became a Certified Nursing Assistant in 2017, committing herself wholeheartedly to senior care.

Today, Alma serves as our Service Coordinator, leading our caregivers in advancing their skills and training to provide exceptional care for our seniors. Her intimate knowledge of our clients' needs and our Care Professionals' strengths makes her the perfect "matchmaker," ensuring personalized care and peace of mind for loved ones.

In addition to her role as Service Coordinator, Alma has recently been promoted to Billing Specialist, further showcasing her dedication and expertise within our team. Alma's multifaceted contributions continue to make a profound impact, and her commitment to our seniors' well-being remains unwavering. Joining the Home Instead team has been a journey of both fulfillment and reward for Alma, as she continues to bring smiles to the faces of our seniors each day.

Shelbi joined Home Instead in 2014, as a Care Professional, however, she knew that she wanted to provide care for seniors and families at an early age. Shelbi comes from a large close-knit family; everyone is supportive of each other. Shelbi remembers when her grandfather’s health took a turn for the worse, and the difficulty in attempting to find reliable, compassionate, and knowledgeable care to help her grandfather live as independently as possible. Shelbi recalls how her passion for helping Home Instead Seniors grew as time went on. “The rewards of seeing our seniors’ smile are very heartfelt, it is fulfilling both mentally and spiritually”.  Shelbi feels incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to care for many Home Instead clients, essentially “becoming part of the family”’, for many of them. She is grateful that she not only assisted many seniors with activities of daily living but also provided peace of mind and comfort to many family members.  

In April 2021, due to Shelbi’s outstanding performance as a care pro and consistent dedication to Home Instead, she was promoted to Office Coordinator.  Shelbi is excited and enthusiastic to serve clients and families in another way while expanding her career skill set. “I want to make things easy and stress-free for families, I am truly blessed to work for such an amazing company. The Home Instead owners have always made me feel welcomed and understand the importance of quality care”. 

Nancy's professional journey reflects a diverse range of experiences, showcasing her adaptability and versatility. From executive administrative roles to hands-on medical responsibilities, and from directing sales to nurturing musical talents as a teacher, her career has been a dynamic blend of skills and passions. Additionally, her dedication to spiritual and educational pursuits is evident in her roles as a Bible study teacher and music educator.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Nancy is deeply rooted in family life. With a loving marriage, three children, and her cherished grandchildren, her strong familial connection likely fuels her warm and welcoming personality.

Nancy's innate gifts of hospitality and encouragement stand out, contributing to her ability to connect with people on a personal level. These qualities align well with the values of Home Instead, where fostering a supportive and caring environment is paramount.

With her diverse skill set, rich life experiences, and genuine personality, Nancy is poised to make meaningful contributions to the Home Instead team, enriching the lives of both clients and colleagues alike.

"Sam" embarked on her journey with Home Instead in 2020, initially joining as a part-time Care Professional. This decision marked the realization of a childhood dream, inspired by the cherished memories of helping her great-grandmother when she could no longer care for herself. Those early experiences instilled in Sam the core values she cherishes to this day, and she discovered that caring for others was her true calling.

Motivated by this newfound passion, Sam made the bold decision to resign from her previous role, dedicating herself wholeheartedly to providing compassionate care to individuals at Home Instead. Since then, she hasn't regretted a single minute of this fulfilling commitment.

Now transitioning into an administrative role, Sam carries with her the wealth of experience gained in delivering quality care. Her background includes caring for higher-level care clients, specifically those with specialized and advanced dementia, enabling her to empathize and intuitively understand the needs of both care professionals and clients.

Sam expresses her joy in working with a team of wonderful, caring, and enthusiastic key players. Serving seniors on an administrative level, she feels empowered to have a greater impact on the lives of both Care Professionals and clients. Sam's journey exemplifies a seamless blend of personal passion, professional growth, and a deep commitment to enhancing the lives of those she serves.

Jessica embarked on her caregiving journey by dedicating her efforts to intellectually disabled adults. After gaining valuable experience, she transitioned to becoming a private caregiver for seniors, driven by a deep sense of fulfillment derived from aiding the most vulnerable members of society. In her own words, Jessica expresses the joy she finds in providing essential assistance and companionship, acknowledging the inherent rewards in such meaningful work.

Now, Jessica is taking the next step in her professional journey, transitioning into an administrative role. She eagerly anticipates applying the skills and experiences she has acquired as a caregiver to contribute to her new responsibilities. Her enthusiasm is palpable as she expresses gratitude for the opportunity to work for what she describes as an amazing company.

Jessica's journey exemplifies a seamless blend of compassion and dedication, from hands-on caregiving to a role where she can leverage her skills in a different capacity. Her passion for assisting vulnerable individuals, coupled with her appreciation for the company she works for, positions Jessica as a valuable asset to the team at every level.

Natalya, a recent addition to the Home Instead team, has swiftly proven her worth as a valuable member. Prior to joining, her career path led her to sales as a new home counselor, where she engaged with a diverse clientele, guiding them through the process of becoming homeowners. This experience instilled in her the importance of serving others effectively, a principle she brings to her current role at Home Instead.

Excited to extend her service to the families of the Permian Basin, Natalya is dedicated to delivering knowledgeable and high-quality support. Her commitment to excellence is evident in her approach to caregiving.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Natalya finds joy in spending time with her children and family. Her love for adventure is reflected in her enthusiasm for museum explorations, as well as trips to the beach or mountains. Natalya's dynamic approach to both work and life makes her a valuable asset to the Home Instead community.

Shanna Murphree brings a wealth of experience and a compassionate heart to her role at Home Instead. Having personally faced the challenges of finding quality care for a loved one, Shanna's journey is deeply rooted in empathy and understanding. With over 25 years of experience in medical and social services, Shanna's resilience, faith, and commitment to serving others shine through in all she does.

As a proud advocate for the underserved, particularly military personnel and senior adults, Shanna's dedication extends beyond her professional life. With a son serving in the United States Air Force, her connection to the military community is personal and profound.

Outside of work, Shanna finds joy in collecting antiques and 1950s memorabilia, reflecting her appreciation for history and nostalgia. Her family, including three dogs and two tortoises, adds warmth and love to her life.

Excited to join the Home Instead team, Shanna is eager to contribute to the organization's mission of personalized care and dedication to the motto, "To us, it's personal." With a heart for making positive changes in her local and veteran community, Shanna is poised to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those she serves.

Hunter, a recent graduate with a bachelor's degree in business administration, specializing in marketing from Angelo State University, proudly supports the Rams! When not at work, you can often find Hunter indulging in their passion for painting, attending concerts, or honing their photography skills.

Hunter's enthusiasm for supporting the West Texas senior population in accessing the care they need and deserve is both admirable and deeply felt. Hunter is driven by a profound sense of compassion and empathy, eager to make a tangible difference in the lives of seniors in her community.
