I'm Kari Ann Gomez, owner of the Home Instead franchise in Lakeland, Florida. I have worked in the Senior Living Industry since I moved to Florida and have always had a passion for seniors and ensuring that they had the right help as they needed it along their life journey!
In 2012 I had the pleasure of joining the Home Instead Lakeland Family under the previous owners, Temi and John Charrier. I did step away from Home Instead for a few years, but I always wore a purple heart on my wrist that I got when I left.
An unexpected drop-in visit to the office brought me back to Home Instead in 2018 and I became the owner in June of that year! It has been an amazing journey that has brought me back home! I couldn’t be more honored to continue to build on the legacy that John & Temi have built. They have brought the passion and drive to change the face of aging in Lakeland, Florida. Now is our opportunity to take it to the next level, to make a difference in lives of seniors.

We are the soldiers that have been assigned to help them in the fight
Our part is to assist them in having a better quality of life
Some we watch as they transition from this life into the next
Some we will just sit and listen as they reminisce with what little memory they have left
There are many levels of care that we provide
No matter what level of care that's needed there's a soldier ready for duty
We will make sure they get the care they need while maintaining their dignity

Our founders, Paul and Lori Hogan, launched Home Instead in 1994 to provide care to Paul’s 90-year-old grandmother. Remarkably, after she began receiving personalized, in-home care that allowed her to age safely in the place she loved most – the family home – Grandma Manhart thrived for an additional decade!
As Home Instead's first professional caregivers, the Hogans developed deep appreciation and respect for aging adults and those who care for them. That’s why, to us, senior care is personal. We’re passionate about expanding the world’s capacity to care.
