Meet Our Team

Your Home Instead franchise owners, Larry and Nell Neal, possess a heartfelt desire to work with seniors in their community. It's the reason why they were chosen to serve seniors and their families. They also feel they have finally found their real purpose in this life. We wanted to find a vehicle that would allow us to give back and also bless and benefit others. We have accomplished that by joining the Home Instead family.

Mary joined our team in 2017 when she moved to Windsor, VA. She is the mother of 7 adult children, the wife of a retired US Navy Chief and a grandmother of 5 wonderful granddaughters and 1 grandson. She brings over 25 years of administrative experience in several different industries to our team. She enjoys tending to her hobby farm, cooking and entertaining.  She was promoted to Operations Manager in June 2022.

Deneen has been with Home Instead since 2010. Her responsibilities include meeting with prospective clients to answer their questions and address their needs as well as initiating service and maintains relationships with health care professionals to provide information on the services Home Instead Senior Care offers families." I want to deliver quality care and service in any way a client may need“ Deneen grew up in Norfolk, VA. and she and her husband moved to Suffolk, VA in 1989 where they raised their three daughters. Deneen attended Ferrum College, Old Dominion University.

Vivian joins our team with over 20 years of administrative and leadership experience. Vivian has lived most of her life in Virginia. She graduated from Dominion Business School in 1999 as magna cum laude. She and her husband relocated from Richmond to Suffolk in 2015. They are avid outdoors people and supporters of our military and law enforcement. They have one child, two dogs and a cat.

Karin grew up on the James River with a loving Christian Family. She grew up working in her dad's business. She married and has two daughters, one grandson and a granddaughter whom she adores. She worked with her husband in his business, until his passing in 2007. She has worked for doctors in Virginia Beach and for a group of surgeons at the Careplex Hospital, first as a receptionist and then doctor’s secretary. She was a caregiver to her father who had Alzheimer's and took care of her grandson. She discovered Home Instead Senior Care while looking for help for her dad and became an employee in November 2012.

Joyce has been with us since 2013. She is retired from a local hospital after working as an administrative assistant for 25 years. She first joined us a a CAREGiver, and now we are lucky enough to have her in the office supporting our staff in a variety of areas.

Joyce attended Suffolk public schools and the Norfolk college of business, where she earned her associates degree in business.

She is the Mother of 2 adult children, grandmother of 2 and the happy owner of "Diva", her Chihuahua.

Tanya is originally from Suffolk and moved to Portsmouth at the age of 10. While in Portsmouth, she graduated from Portsmouth Public Schools. She attended Norfolk State University where she majored in Biology. She has worked in healthcare and benefits for over 15 years, most recently she worked in hospice care. After working in home care and hospice for 7 years, Tanya stepped out on faith and took a sabbatical from working. She was afforded the opportunity to help others, tutoring children at her church, being ordained as a deaconess on June 8, 2014. “I have always had a special place in my heart for seniors. I need to be of service to someone else, because someone has helped me along the way.” Tanya returned to her hometown of Suffolk in 2004. She is happily married to Daryl, who is a retired Navy Senior Chief and they have 2 children and 1 dog named Coco.

Linda graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill and went to work in Medical Surgery Nursing. She has served as Director of Nursing at a nursing home followed by teaching OB Nursing at OBICI Professional School of Nursing. She then taught in OBICI's Practical Nursing Program. She has been in long-term care since the early 1990s as Admissions Coordinator for a nursing home, staff development nurse, and wellness nurse. 

Harriett joined us in June of 2016 as a CARE Professional.  She was selected as CARE Professional of the Year for 2019.  She was promoted to our Lead Care Professional and Mentor in 2021.  She is a retired LPN having worked in the field helping others for many years. She worked with Disabled Children, Adolescents, and the elderly . Her heart has always been to reach out to others and make a difference. She is married, has four grown children, and seven delightful grandchildren. Her hobbies include reading and gardening. She hopes that today, as well as yesterday and tomorrow, she can make a difference.

Tanya is originally from Chesapeake and moved to Suffolk in 2016 with her husband and 3 children. Tanya came to work with Home Instead as a Care Professional in 2017.  In June of 2021 she became a Lead Care Professional and joined the On Call team.  She has continued to work as Office Support ever since.   Tanya works from her home in Kentucky where they moved to after her husband's service in the Coast Guard and we are grateful she can continue to work for us from any location.  She loves her job and has a passion for serving seniors no matter where life takes her.
