Meet Our Team

Karin has been the Owner of the Lorain County Home Instead for over 13 years. After taking care of her parents, she realized she wanted to help people in similar situations so in 2008, she opened her Home Instead office. She truly wants to provide reliable and responsive services with caring and compassionate CAREGivers.

Karin holds a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from California State University, Sacramento, and spent nearly 15 years in intensive care units. She is a board member for the LIFE A Dementia Friendly Foundation and a member of the Home Care Association of America. In addition, she is a Leadership Lorain County Alumni-Best Class of 2019.

Karin enjoys traveling with her husband, spending time with her children, and walking her dogs, Lola and Oscar.

Austin began working at Home Instead in October, 2021 and transitioned to the General Manager role in April, 2022.  Prior to Home Instead, Austin served in the United States Coast Guard as a Finance/Supply specialist (Storekeeper) where he acted as a boarding team member on Lake Superior and oversaw all financial systems for the Coast Guard Investigative Service within the Great Lakes.  Austin oversees day to day operations and utilizes his leadership skills developed on active duty to provide new perspectives to the Franchise Office.  In his free time, Austin enjoys spending time with family and friends, listening to music,  and watching movies. 

Marny has been our Director of Business Development since 2009. She is responsible for bringing the message and mission of Home Instead into the community, working with local facilities, organizations and professionals throughout Lorain County. Marny provides education about senior issues, and makes sure that local professionals are always aware of the full scope of care and services available. Marny holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green Ohio.

Marny is on the board of directors for North Ridgeville Community Care. She enjoys spending time with her significant other, Jeff and her college-age children, Julia and Gabriel.

As the Client Care Coordinator for Home Instead, I look forward to talking with you and your loved one about care services! I have worked for Home Instead since 2015 and I am blessed to work with a wonderful staff that really cares about the work we do. I value the client/CAREGiver relationship and take pride in being a source of support for you. Let us be your care team!

On a personal note, I enjoy life with my husband, Larry of 23 years. We have three wonderful children, two of them are currently adulting! I am a proud military mom, a proud parent of an Ohio State Buckeye, and a proud parent of a Sophomore navigating hybrid high school. I really love living on Lake Erie and spending time with family.

Brittanny started her relationship with Home Instead as a Care Professional in 2019 and later transitioned into the office to become the Lead Service Coordinator. She uses her caregiving experience, to help her make the perfect match between Care Professionals and Clients.  She values the relationships with the Care Professionals and Clients, and loves making a difference not only in the client’s lives, but the Care Professionals too.  

In her free time, she enjoys being outside, bowling, and being at the beach. She also enjoys spending time with her fiancé Jacob, and daughter Nora.

Melissa started her relationship with Home instead in February 2023. Melissa looks forward to building relationships with the clients and CarePros. Melissa loves being able to be a part of such a loveable team!  In her free times she enjoys hanging out with her family and friends, going to the beach, relaxing on the boat, and crafting. Melissa has a husband of 19 years (Eric) and a 5 year old daughter (Kailee). 

Lisa began her career with Home Instead in June of 2015.  She serves as both Care Professional and On Call Coordinator.  Lisa loves being able to help her clients stay in their homes and making a daily difference in their lives.  Home Instead has the best clients! In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her 2 daughters, gardening, cooking and being outdoors. 

Carissa started her relationship with Home Instead in January of 2018 as a Care Professional, and in 2023 took on the role of On-Call Service Coordinator. Carissa enjoys helping and caring for our clients. She loves making them smile every day! In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with family and friends, watching movies, camping, bowling, reading a good book, and baking. Carissa has a Fiancé, Chuck and a 13-year-old daughter, Kimber.

Our CAREGivers encourage, assist and stimulate our clients in a variety of daily activities that improve their quality of life and help them maintain their independence. They are the backbone of our company! Our staff is available 24/7 to support them. All of our CAREGivers share a common desire to make a difference in the life of a senior.
