March 2021 Professional CAREGiver of the Month - Charisma G.
Let’s give a cheer for Charisma G. for being our March CAREGiver of the Month! Charisma is the kind of girl that has never met a challenge she hasn’t been able to overcome. She doesn’t see obstacles, she sees opportunities. She’s very direct and cuts to the chase of matters, yet has a heart of gold and is so compassionate, especially to the clients she cares for. Read on to find out a little bit more about her.
Where were you born? I was born at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Where did you grow up? I grew up in Muldrow, Oklahoma.
How long have you worked at HISC? I have worked for Home Instead for 3 years.
What’s your favorite part of caregiving? My favorite part of caregiving is knowing I can help make the lives of others a little bit better and show the love and care that Jesus shows us daily.
Tell us a little bit about yourself. Well, I’m 33 years old and the mother of 7 kiddos that never fail to amaze me. I spend most of my time off with my kids going fishing, skating, hiking, swimming, etc. I enjoy listening to country and gospel music and playing pool from time to time, but I don’t like television all that much. I also used to be a Sunday school teacher several years back.
Charisma is not afraid of work and does everything in her power to provide consistency of care for clients. When the recent snowstorm hit, she couldn’t make it all the way to the client’s residence, so she found a parking lot close by and walked the rest of the way. Since her client is a 24/7 client, her spunk and determination to get there was good for her consistency in pay, the client’s consistency of care and relief to the CAREGiver who had been working all those hours before her.
