February 2021 Professional CAREGiver of the Month - Amanda Barnes

Congratulations, Amanda! She was our CAREGiver of the Month for February!  Amanda couldn’t wait to get through training and get started.  She wanted work and lots of it…and she meant it!  She works a lot and wherever she is needed no matter how far she has to go.  She answered the following questions so we could get to know her better.

Where were you born?
I was born in Danville, Arkansas.  Where did you grow up?  I grew up in Belleville, Arkansas.

How long have you worked at HISC?
I have worked for Home Instead for 5 months.

What’s your favorite part of caregiving?
My favorite part is the companionship and caring for others.  Tell us a little bit about yourself. I grew up on a cattle farm.  I started working throwing hay bales and driving tractors at the age of eight.  We were a poor family, but growing up poor taught all four of us kids what hard work really is.  It doesn’t matter how many jobs you have as long as you love what you do. I love outdoor activities like playing football with the kids or just taking a walk to clear my mind.  I enjoy family life as much as possible and I thank the Lord above for every day on earth.

Amanda, her husband Johnny, and their three children, Kendra, Johnny and Hunter, live in Booneville.  GO BEARCATS!  They are living in a trailer while they are in the process of building their first log home.  Along with building a home and keeping up with her kids’ activities, Amanda has worked tirelessly at Home Instead.  She loves working with a variety of clients and has even continued to serve others through some tough, personal challenges.  Nothing seems to slow her down.  Family, faith and serving others are the fuels that seem to keep her going.

Thanks, Amanda, for making such a big difference in a short amount of time at Home Instead.  We are so glad to have you part of our family and to recognize you with the honor of being our CAREGiver of the Month!  Keep up the great work and God Bless.
