October 2022 Care Professional of the Month - Kristen N.
CONGRATULATIONS Kristen Newman for being our Care Professional of the Month for October. Kristen has led such fascinating life. We are so glad that after so many adventures, she ended up in Fort Smith working at Home Instead. Read on to learn more about her life.
Where were you born?
I was born in Mayville, North Dakota in 1989. I moved to Northwest AR in 1998 and lived there until I moved to Fort Smith in 2012.
How long have you worked at Home Instead?
I have been with the Home Instead a little over a year.
What’s your favorite part of caregiving?
My favorite part of caregiving is visiting and being able to take care of the clients. I love working at Home Instead. It’s a wonderful company.
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am married to my husband, James, who I met after we both joined the Army National Guard in 2008. We have a son, Theodore, who is almost twelve and a daughter, Emylee, who is eight. I also have a dog named Thema and cat originally called Junior, but we call him Mr. Whiskey. I was in foster care until 2002 when my two sisters, my brother, and I was adopted.
We grew up on a farm. I now have a total of thirteen sisters and five brothers. It was in foster care that I put my trust in Jesus.
I love riding horses, swimming, reading, listening to music, and singing. My favorite color is blue, and my idea of a perfect vacation is traveling to see my family and friends. I haven’t been able to do that in a while.
