June 2023 Care Professional of the Month - Kayla S.
CONGRATULATIONS Kayla Shepard for being our Care Pro of the Month for June. Wherever Kayla is, there is joy. She’s always wearing a smile and her lighthearted spirit is refreshing. She shared the following so we could get to know her better.
Where were you born?
I was born and raised in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
How long have you worked at HI?
I’ve been with Home Instead for a year now!
What’s your favorite part of caregiving?
My favorite part about being a caregiver is helping families not worry about their loved one’s getting the proper care they need.
Tell us a little bit about yourself:
I don’t have any kids, but I’m a fulltime auntie to three crazy boys. Trey is 10 years old going on 17. He keeps me busy with his baseball and basketball games. Then, there’s Ashton that is 3 years old and Kyngston that will be 3 months this month! When I'm not with my nephews or my family, I'm usually watching Law and Order or reading a thriller book! Before I started working for Home Instead, I was a daycare teacher for 2 years. I loved it and all my kiddos. I had my own classroom full of toddlers. I still try and keep in touch with them, and I even still babysit a couple. I've always had a love for taking care of people and my job choices definitely shows it!
Kayla’s family is very close and are always there for each other. Having that kind of connection and concern for her own loved one’s helps her want to treat those in her care as she would want her own loved one’s to be treated. That attitude, her quality care, kindhearted demeanor and so much more is why her clients are so partial to her and why she was recognized as our Care Pro of the Month.
