August 2023 Care Professional of the Month - Kim C.
Congratulations Kim Cox for being our Care Pro of the Month for August. Kim is a Care Pro who is consistent, conscientious & compassionate. Those qualities, and more, are what make her shine at her career. Read on to learn more about her.
Where were you born?
I was born in Lynnwood, California.
Where were did you grow up?
I lived in Southern California until I moved here in 2010.
How long have you worked at HI?
I started with Home Instead in May of 2011 and just loved my clients. My first client had gone through 13 caregivers at a rapid clip. Amy can verify that! She used to tell them to quit snooping and get out when the caregiver would open the fridge door to make her lunch. So, when I got there, I played it by ear and didn't let myself get out of her sight, since I figured she had trust issues. By 2 PM it was time for me to clock out and we had to call the office to clock out. Amy answered my call and said, " you're still there?" While my client said, "you're coming back tomorrow, right?" I’ve enjoyed the clients that I’ve had since that very first day.
Tell us a little bit about yourself:
I love my new kittens Riley and Sheba and I take care of my dad. I used to be a restaurant manager in Southern California and had to give it up because of my health and the crazy hours. I thought I'd never find a job that I loved as much but I am happy to say that I was wrong. I hope to do this as long as I can!
Kim loves serving others. She lives out the faith she confesses and values each life she has the privilege to care for. We are thankful for Kim’s faithfulness through the years and come in agreement with her statement that she does this work for as long as she can.
