To Us, It’s Personal®

Our founders, Paul and Lori Hogan, launched Home Instead in 1994 to provide care to Paul’s 90-year-old grandmother. Remarkably, after she began receiving personalized, in-home care that allowed her to age safely in the place she loved most – the family home – Grandma Manhart thrived for an additional decade!

Our families live and work in Hammond, LA, so we're invested in our community on a very personal level. And we believe every family in the area deserves individualized in-home senior care with a compassionate touch. That's why we established Home Instead® of Hammond, LA.

As a locally owned business, we offer friendly, responsive service right in your neighborhood. We're dedicated to making our community a better place to live for seniors and their families.

That’s why, to us, senior care is personal. We’re passionate about Enhancing the lives of Aging Adults and their Families®.

More than a Business: A Mission in Life

In the decades since Paul and Lori founded Home Instead, the company has expanded far beyond the city limits of Omaha, Nebraska. We now count more than 1,200 franchise locations globally – but we all share the same mission.

We live the mission with our CAREGivers, our staff and our community by:

  • Treating each other with dignity and respect
  • Encouraging and supporting each others’ growth
  • Building value in our service to others
  • Honoring God in all we do

When you choose Home Instead to help your family, you’re partnering with us on our mission to improve the lives of seniors (and their families) everywhere.

About the Owners...

Matt Cohn is a native of Baton Rouge and has been the proud owner of Home Instead Senior Care since February 2001. He and his wife Ainsley have two sons: Grant and Everett. Matt is a graduate of Catholic High School in Baton Rouge and Louisiana State University. It was at LSU that he learned of the Home Instead Senior Care opportunity when the company's founder, Paul Hogan, was speaking to a franchising course that Matt was enrolled. After recognizing the need for this service in both his and Ainsley's family, he decided to pursue a franchise of his own.

Ainsley Cohn, a graduate of St. Joseph's Academy and the Louisiana State University Holmes program, holds a Master's degree in Education. "Family is extremely important to me," says Ainsley. "That is why it is so rewarding to see not only how Home Instead Senior Care makes a difference in the lives of our clients, but also in the lives of their family members.  The ability to relieve some of the day-to-day pressures of our clients and their family members means they can spend more time enjoying each other's company."

Both Matt and Ainsley have worked extremely hard over the years to provide their clients with the highest level of   care, starting with the quality of the management team they employ.
