Care Professional of the Month for September 2023- Joyce T.
Congratulations to our Care Professional of the month for September, Joyce T.! After caring for both her mother and grandmother, after each of them became ill, Joyce found a passion for caregiving and wanted to continue helping others. “I am motivated by getting to help my clients that cannot take care of themselves anymore,” said Joyce.
In the time Joyce has been with Home Instead, she has shown that she will treat her clients like her family. Joyce loves to see her clients smile. “To realize that I am the reason I see my clients smile is so rewarding,” said Joyce. She loves the type of companionship one can experience with in-home care when a Care Pro can focus on one or two clients at a time. This provides a nice opportunity to really build a lasting bond. “I love talking with my clients and hearing about their lives and their stories. I recently discovered that me and one of my clients love sports and have the same favorite NFL team.”
What makes Joyce a great Care Professional cannot be summed up in just a few words. She is patient, kind, compassionate, dependable, reliable, empathetic, and encouraging. She is also on time and picks up shifts with her clients whenever she can. She never complains if she must stay late on a shift and readily volunteers to work extra shifts for her co-workers if needed.
Joyce always comes to work prepared and ready to provide the best care. She puts her client’s needs first. “My advice to new Care Pros would be to remember why you applied for the job. You are there to take care of the client first and foremost. No matter what mood or situation you find on any given shift, it is our job to show them love,” said Joyce.
