Bowling Green July 2021 Professional CAREGiver of the Month - Stephen K.
Meet Stephen K., the July Professional CAREGiver of the Month for Bowling Green! After retiring from being an over the road truck driver for 14 years, Stephen was searching for a form of supplemental income that would work with his schedule and who’s mission aligned with his personal goals and beliefs. He found a Home Instead brochure at a library and thought the career would be a great fit for him. He has now been with us for three years.
Stephen has one 91-year-old client now, who is a bit of a local celebrity to Bowling Green. He says that even though the client is well off, he is down to earth, and they have built a strong bond together. He has become somewhat of a chef for this client as well, his favorite being made from scratch meatloaf. When Stephen is not with his client you will find him shooting guns and cooking. Stephen’s supervisor says, Stephen is a natural CAREGiver, personally and professionally. He goes above and beyond when it comes to communication as far as sharing insight and client changes. He communicates these changes to ensure other caregivers know so they can accurately take care of the client. He is willing to work outside of his availability and steps up when we need him”. We are certainly glad Stephen found that brochure and decided to grow with Home Instead. We hope he continues to “Share His Heart” with clients for many years to come!
