​Todd & Carly Harrell, Franchise Owners

Todd and his family started their first Home Instead Senior Care franchise in 1998 in Tallahassee, FL and have since branched out into the Panama City and Fort Walton Beach areas. Todd graduated from The Florida State University with a bachelors degree in Criminal Justice, where he played baseball. Following an injury, ending his baseball career, he decided to open his own franchise here in Fort Walton Beach, FL, proudly serving Okaloosa and Walton Counties! Todd, along with his brother Scott, aided in the care of their own grandfather, gaining experience on caregiving and now understand, firsthand, exactly what the family caregivers go through. “I have a better respect for what our caregivers do on a daily basis,” says Todd. “I take much pride in knowing that we provide the highest level of care in our area.” Todd also states, “My wife and I enjoy increasing awareness throughout the community and making a difference in the lives of seniors. Originally from Fort Myers, FL, Carly graduated from The Florida State University with a bachelors degree in Marketing and started working with her husband Todd, helping seniors remain safe and independent in their homes, in January of 2002. Carly and Todd have 3 sons, Brody, Wade and Jack. Her involvement with the company has been devoted to everything from marketing, to staffing and training, to accounting and administrative duties. “Family is the most important element in our lives,” says Carly. “We feel that helping our clients remain in their own home, with their familiar surroundings, will ultimately keep them more at peace, as well as their families.” As a result, she is committed and enthusiastic about making a positive impact on the clients she serves. Laurie Sprague, Service Manager

Laurie has been with Home Instead Senior Care since December 2013. She has over 20 years’ experience in human resources and brings to Home Instead Senior Care an extensive knowledge of recruitment, placement, manpower utilization, and addressing client needs. A Navy wife for more than 20 years, Laurie recently relocated back to the area from the Keys to be near her family, living here since 1990. She has two children, two granddaughters, and Taz, her rescued puppy. Laurie enjoys diving, water activities, power walking, and spending time with her family. Pam Gemoules, R.N., Director of CAREGiver Training

Pam has over 20 years of experience as a nurse. Ten of those years were spent working in skilled nursing facilities as a charge nurse. For the past ten years she has been teaching and training CNA’s and LPN’s. She is a certified trainer in Michigan and Georgia. Pam truly enjoys being a part of the team at Home Instead Senior Care and training caregivers how to provide care for clients enabling them to remain at home, safe and independent. She also likes interacting with clients and families.

When Pam is not dedicating her time to Home Instead Senior Care, she loves spending time with her husband, children, and grandson. She is active in her church. She enjoys going to the beach, movies and visiting with family and friends. Pam can be reached at pamgemoules@homeinstead.com

Responsibilities: Conducts new and continued education/training to CAREGivers, CPR training for employees, Home Health Aid skills training, and conducts Quality Assurance visits with our Clients.

Dee Bocchino, Office Coordinator

Joined the HISC team February 2014 because “I wanted to make a difference and being in health care for over 28 years I saw the growing need for assistance and resources for seniors who want to remain as independent as possible in a home environment, HISC was the answer, this company is dedicated to making a difference. ” Native of New Orleans, LA and has lived in the Panhandle for over 35 years. Married with 2 daughters, 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Enjoys family, friends, Rudy (pet poodle), and the water. Dee can be reached at dbocchino@homeinstead.com​

Responsibilities: Supports the Staff, handles incoming calls and directs them to the appropriate place, greets all visitors at the Home Instead Senior Care office, and most of all “Jack-of-all-Trades”.

Chris Odom, Home Care Consultant

Chris is married with two girls and a boy. Chris grew up in Okaloosa County and has more than 15 years of experience in the Healthcare Industry. His work experience includes but is not limited to an Area Operations Manager for National Durable Medical Equipment Companies such as Praxair Healthcare Services and Rotech. He worked as a Branch Manager in Dallas for Baylor Healthcare System/American Home Patient and has experience working in Assisted Living Facilities. He enjoys a round of golf and fishing, both salt and fresh water although a busy family doesn't allow much time for that. Chris is extremely passionate about helping people, especially our senior population and he makes it his mission to make sure all of his client’s needs are met with Home Instead Senior Care.

Responsibilities: Networking and Marketing to our local community, conducting initial Care Consults with families and potential clients, CAREGiver Introductions to clients, and assist with Quality Assurance.​

Jessamyn Gross, Administrative Assistant

Jessamyn was born in Seoul, Korea. Her father served 21 years in the Air Force, and she has been a Fort Walton Beach local since 1993. Jessamyn attended Fort Walton Beach High School and Northwest Florida State College, as well as spending 3 years working at a local preschool. She has been with Home Instead Senior Care since 2014: "I just really enjoy our clients and getting to be part of this process with them. We have a great team, here in the office…the heart that everyone shows towards each other, to our clients and to our caregivers, is quite wonderful to be a part of!” Jessamyn enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, and enjoys being around children. She is very involved in her church and has recently become involved in the youth ministry. She has 5 nephews, 3 brothers and 1 sister, which bring her a lot of joy in life!

Responsibilities: Supports the Staff, handles incoming calls and directs them to the appropriate team member, organizes and reconciles all state funded program billing.​

Kat Nevala, Recruitment and Engagement Coordinator

Lori Katherine Nevala (Kat) joined the Home Instead team in May, 2016. Kat moved to Florida to escape the brutal winters of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. She worked at a hospital in Marquette, Michigan for 19 years and at Kindred Home Health in Fort Walton Beach. Kat has been active in leadership training including facilitating a Financial Fitness class in Fort Walton Beach and Leadership Workshops at Northern Michigan University. Kat is passionate about her role in hiring high quality Caregivers to provide the best possible care to Seniors in the area. In addition, she likes being a part of providing employment to people in the community who have a loving heart and desire to serve others. "I was immediately impressed by the quality of this company. It is a pleasure to be part of the team in Fort Walton Beach where they continually strive for excellence." Kat has three children and two grandchildren. She hopes they will all move closer to her one day. Favorite hobbies are reading, doing Zumba, and finding seashells on the breath-taking beaches of the Emerald Coast.
