We're Jamie and Darin Hecht, proud owners of Home Instead in both Rockland County, New York, and Guilford, Connecticut. We've been honored to lead the Rockland County office since 2019 and the Guilford office since 2025. Both locations have proudly served their communities for over 20 years, building a strong legacy of trusted, compassionate care that we are committed to carrying forward. Our passion for senior care is deeply personal. As caregivers for our grandparents and for Jamie's father, we understand how important it is to have reliable, heartfelt support when a loved one needs help at home. That experience inspires everything we do. Jamie has been in the healthcare field since college, holding a degree in Dietetics and Nutritional Sciences. Darin brings over 20 years of experience as a business owner across various industries, with a focus on developing strong teams and systems that support success. Together, we're dedicated to creating a positive and empowering environment for our Care Professionals-because exceptional care starts with those who provide it. Our mission is to help older adults age safely and comfortably in the place they love most: home. We remain actively involved in the day-to-day operations and take great pride in supporting our team, our clients, and their families.

She ensures all services are going well by doing quality assurance visits and checking in with all of our clients on a regular basis.

Meet Barbara L, a heartbeat of the Home Instead West Nyack team. Barbara comes to us with a background in i worked in the office of a furniture manufacturer for 31 years.. With 9 1/2 years at Home Instead, Barbara has built relationships rooted in trust, compassion, and shared joy.

For Barbara, the reward is in the connection. "I really llike being able to help others and I love to hear the stories these folks like to share," Barbara shares. Through these shared moments, Barbara has learned valuable life lessons, noting, "I've learned a lot from most all of my clients, especially engaging with them and showing them that I am interested in their stories."

Barbara's daily goal is simple: ensure every client feels safe, comfortable, and cared for. Skilled in companionship and some dementia, Barbara finds joy in the details of each visit. "Engaging with the client," Barbara says of a typical day.

Barbara praises the local team for their dedication and communication. "I don't know enough about other home care services, but I know that our caregivers are concerned about their clients and want what's best for them," Barbara notes. "Shows care and concern for their clients and the clients' families."
