We contacted Home Instead after my mom had total hip replacement surgery and needed additional support. The person we worked with from their office (Lisa) was easy to work with. Lisa understood the needs and helped identify the scope of care. They offered the scheduling flexibility that made Home Instead easy to work with.
The care provided by Jenyne was exactly what my mom needed. While getting to know each other they determined they grew up in the same area which gave them more personal connections. Jenye was able to connect with my mom in a personal, thoughtful, caring and experienced way. Thank you for all the work you do.

The care my father received from Home Instead Crystal Lake was fantastic! The office staff was always kind, caring and compassionate. They readily adapted when I needed to change hours of care. Emily helped me transition my Dad to hospice care and was always ready to be a listening ear as I struggled with my Dads increased needs. Crystal and Terri were helpful at all times! Home Instead Senior Care helps out with personal care, meals, cleaning, and vacuuming; just general home cleaning for my dad. They're also available to run errands or to take him to doctors' appointments. That's something they can do either with his car or their car. The caregivers have been great. They're always available for him, they're very caring, and they leave good information for me. I write them notes about things that I'm concerned about and they always respond with how it went. I think their company has a policy that they should leave notes anyway. I'm satisfied with this agency. The director, the person who came out and talked to me before we started, he would drop in and supervise occasionally to see how people were doing. When someone was new they would introduce that new caregiver. The administrator would come and help the new caregiver adjust. Emily is one of the case managers I've dealt with the most. When there's a concern, she talks to me and makes some suggestions. For example, sometimes Dad wouldn't take his pills so we talked about what to try and do and how to get him to take them. She's very proactive.
The staff has helped our family more than we could have ever imagined. Thank you all for everything.
The office staff is very professional but they show that they care for each for me as an individual and that they care about what needs I have. They realize that I am a human being and I just had a few bumps in the road to put me where I am now. The individual actual caregivers, have overall been very nice but still professional and caring to know that I have certain needs and being in a wheelchair it's different for them to put things away then it is for me. But they do this very wonderfully. It would greatly help if any staff member from caregivers to the office staff that they all remember we used to work we used to be out there doing things and now we can't do things. It is hard for us to ask for things. Please remember this. When you have a client who is permanently in a wheelchair you need to think about what happens when you're not there. Does that client do some things on his/her own? Make sure your client can get to the things wanted without a problem.
