About Us

Rich Berube, Owner
It's personal to me because I've had to make that call to someone you don't know, and ask them to care for your parents. My mom has Alzheimers' and my 83-year-old dad was recovering from heart surgery not long ago. I felt so relieved that I could place my trust in the owner and staff of a HomeInstead office in another state. They did a great job, and my dad loved his CAREGiver! It's also personal to me because I've spent the bulk of my 30-year career in health care, either running health not-for-profits, or helping physician organizations grow for improved clinical and operational results. My personal mission is to provide you and your family with the best-trained, most compassionate CAREGivers, so that the seniors we love can stay independent, active, and safe in their homes or wherever they may be.

Brent Stephens, General Manager
It's personal to me because as a former CAREGiver I experienced first-hand the joy that can be had in developing loving, caring relationships with our clients. I primarily worked for gentlemen and was amazed at the life events in which they had encountered and lived through. I had a gentlemen that told me the story of having to rebuild his farm after a tornado swept through and how he was able to bond with his son as they rebuilt a barn. I had a client that at 92 years old could still play the electric guitar, and played several of his favorite tunes for me. I had a client that used to work with Adolph Rupp in the 1950's and had many fascinating stories about his time with the championship-winning coach. Seniors have so much to share and so much can be learned from just simply asking questions and listening. As an organization we have the opportunity to be a bright, shining light for good in Central Kentucky. We do this by providing compassionate and committed care that helps our clients stay in their homes longer, and continue to live rich, fulfilling lives.

Whitney Villasana, Quality Care Consultant
“To me, it’s personal because I can go to work knowing that I am making a difference in other’s lives. Caring for those who once cared for us is an honor. I feel privileged to have the opportunity of doing my very best to help them stay in the place they call home.”

Justina Elsidodi, Recruitment and Retention Coordinator
Our lives are woven together through our daily exchanges with each other. Life revolves around interactions with other people and relationships of every kind are conducted person-to-person, making everything in life personal to someone.
The HISC motto of "To us, it's personal" Is one I fully support and take to heart. It's in these personal interactions with others that our reputations are forged. So, whether I'm interviewing a new applicant or conversing with a CAREGiver or a client, I'm very intentional about offering that HISC personal touch that reflects respect and thoughtfulness. This is what I want to exhibit in my role as Recruiting and Retention Coordinator with HISC. After all, it is our actions that reflect who we are, and what we are…and that is very personal.

Stacey Osborne, RN - Client Care Coordinator
Its personal to me because my grandmother was fortunate to have an in-home caregiver. She developed an instant bond with Peggy. My grandmother loved to cook and bake. They began baking birthday cakes for the monthly birthday parties at her independent living facility. Grandmother became known as the birthday cake lady. She was independent and very happy. There were less falls and less medical visits. Our family had peace of mind that grandmother was safe and thriving in her own home.

Alicia Burnett, Staffing Coordinator
Why is it personal for ME? Well, its personal to me for countless reasons; I will share a few. My nature, as a human being, is that I'm a very caring and loving person (not to toot my own horn!). I love to help anyone that I can. It seriously warms my heart and makes me feel better as a person. Personally, I do not have any family of my own outside of my children. When helping others, I treat them and care for them as if they were my family. I have become a much better person, wholeheartedly, since becoming a caregiver and working in this field of business. I truly believe that caring for others is what GOD intended for me and I'm serving Him proudly!

Kim Collins, Administrative Assistant
It's personal to me because I not only had to take on the role as CAREGiver to my father who was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in 2015 but also to my mother who was diagnosed with 4th Stage Kidney Failure in 2017. To be able to provide around the clock care for them, I had moved them both into my home during the time of there illnesses. I wanted to make sure that I was able to do all that I could to make sure that they had the best care possible until the day they passed. Even though at times it did become a struggle trying to balance work and family responsibilities, the bond between a parent and child that came with it couldn't have been more greater and I wouldn't change it for the world.
