December of 2021, I started my journey with Home Instead as an Administrative Assistant. I had just come back to Canada after being in the Philippines for years and I just wanted a start up job to get experience as a stepping stone to the corporate ladder. 3 months later, during my performance review, Christina, my Managing Director at the time asked where I see myself in 5 years and I found myself saying the words, “I want to have my own Home Instead”. And that is how it started. Not too long after that, I was promoted to Administrative Manager.  

September of 2022, my boss, Jeremy Grant talked to me about becoming the Managing Director of the new franchise that he is purchasing. I was terrified, I had only been with Home Instead for less than a year to take on a bigger role however, I thought if he asked me, he must’ve seen something in me to believe that I could do it. I took the challenge. On the same month, I went through franchise training.  

December of 2022, exactly a year of being with the company I officially started my journey as the Managing Director. During that time, my passion was at its peak and I kept on manifesting that I will open my own franchise. Before the year 2022 ended, I received a call that would change the course of my life forever, the chance to acquire my own franchise, Home Instead Grimsby. The call moved my timeline earlier than I planned but I knew this is God’s doing, this is His plan. Going through the franchising process was not easy but I knew that no matter what happened, I will give it everything that I had. The Home Office team was very helpful and provided all the support that I needed. Every day, I saw the increasing need of support in the elderly community and my passion for the industry kept on growing. I knew this is what I wanted to do, my calling. After all the interviews, I finally got the approval. God has given me a bigger platform to serve and help the aging population in our community. 

I grew up as a grandmother’s girl. When you ask my grandma who her favourite grandchild is, without any hesitation, she would say my name no matter who asked. This is why Home Instead is personal for me. I feel close to her while serving the community that she is a part of even though she is thousands of miles away from me. She is my biggest “why”, the reason why I do the things that I do. 

This is a testimony of how great His plans are, they are bigger than ours. We are just an instrument of His greatness and glory. I plan to give back by working day in and day out in helping as much lives as I can, one life at a time.
