January 2022 CAREGiver of the Month – Giovanna G.
Giovanna moved to the US from Mexico when she was 9 years old. She is now the mother of a 5-year old son and recently celebrated her 1-year anniversary as a Home Instead Caregiver!
We are so proud to have Giovanna on our team, and we couldn’t be more grateful to her for the amazing, compassionate care she has been providing to so many special clients over the past 12 months. Giovanna takes this career seriously, saying that she can see her parents in each of the clients she cares for knowing that one day they will need someone special and compassionate to help care for them too.
Her inspiration to become a professional caregiver began as a child. Her family took care of the seniors at her church; taking them to appointments, making meals, and making sure they knew that they were valued. This experience of seeing the need seniors have for assistance and companionship is what eventually inspired her to become a professional caregiver. When asked how making a difference in the lives of others has made a difference in her life, Giovanna says, “It doesn’t feel like a job and is such a rewarding feeling to help the elderly. I forget about my hardships as soon as I walk through the doors of my clients’ homes. Seeing them smile because they are happy I am there, is the best feeling.”
