Shannon Chan, Owner & President

"Changing the face of aging, one client at a time in our community." Shannon moved to Bay Area shortly after enduring way too much snow and completing two master degrees in Applied Economics and Education in Buffalo, New York. It took almost a decade in banking to prepare her for her true calling, Senior Care. Her mother, a registered nurse who took care of patients all her life was the real inspiration for Shannon to pursue her dream in senior care. In her free time, Shannon enjoys swimming, a sunny day on the beach with her family and community works at Fremont Rotary Club.

Karen Honoridez, Recruitment & Engagement Coordinator

Karen Honoridez, Recruitment & Engagement Coordinator

Karen moved to California from the Philippines in 2006. She began to work in the Home Health Field starting in 2007 and has been in and out in the field ever since. While in Nursing School, Karen has worked with wonderful families as a respite care provider and caregiver assisting developmentally disabled individuals.

Since working in respite care, home care, and home health care since 2007, Karen knew this industry was a perfect match. She is happy that Home Instead gave her the ability to take a step forward where she can continue to work with many more seniors and great caregivers with a focus of high quality of care.

In her spare time, Karen enjoys watching TV shows, movies and even basketball games with her family & friends. She also likes to cook her favorite basic Filipino dishes that she learned from her Grandmother. Karen hopes that she can make the experience of those working with Home Instead unforgettable!

Johnny Huynh, Care Coordinator

Johnny Huynh, Care Coordinator

Johnny was born and raised in Oakland, CA. He is the youngest of six siblings. Speaks fluently in Vietnamese and English. Growing up, Johnny always had a passion to help others. He takes pleasure in comforting and coming to the aid of those who are in distress. He often helped his family members out with filling paperwork and speaking to social workers. Occasionally, his parents would recommend him to family friends to help translate at hospitals, doctor visits, and social work offices. Johnny’s biggest role model is his mother. On weekends, Johnny would help his mother run errands, carrying groceries, and doing heavy chores. Johnny especially joys helping his mother cook Vietnamese dishes for Sunday potlucks at our local church. She inspired him to always be kind, compassionate, and caring to others even if people don’t always reciprocate those same feelings. She also taught him the value of helping others even when you don’t have very much to offer. When his mother turned seventy-five years of age, Johnny noticed a decline in her health. He realizes that she is nearing the age where home care services may be a great option to consider. By joining Home Instead, Johnny aspires to learn more about the industry and help others find peace of mind and receive quality care for their elderlies. Johnny is also a dog lover and enjoys meeting new people. Johnny’s favorite hobbies are travelling, trying new types of food, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
