Denise de Cock, RN - Owner

Denise de Cock, RN, Owner

Denise de Cock, owner of the Home Instead Senior Care office in Torrance, has a deep passion for caring.

A registered nurse, with a degree from Addington Hospital College of Nursing in Durban, South Africa, Denise moved from her hometown of Cape Town to the United States in 1993. Denise worked in the emergency room, intensive care unit, and as a midwife, before turning her attention to senior care.

"I saw a need," said Denise, who opened the local Torrance office in September 1999. "Seniors were being admitted to hospitals, not because they needed medical care, but because they weren't safe on their own in their homes."

de Cock carefully considered her options and "Home Instead Senior Care was by far the best opportunity to serve area seniors, wherever they called home."

After years in the business of caring for people as a registered nurse, Denise fully understands the dedication, commitment and compassion that come with being a caregiver. Her professional CAREGivers provide in-home companionship and care to seniors in the coastal Los Angeles area, from San Pedro up to Marina del Rey.

"Our caregivers continue to provide quality service to seniors who clearly want to enjoy a quality life in their own homes," she said.

A member of the Torrance Chamber of Commerce, Denise also serves on the California Association for Health Services at Home's Policy and Advocacy Committee. She is a member of the National Private Duty Association, Alzheimer's Memory Walk committee, Home Instead Franchise Exchange Council and the Keepsafe Coalition. Previously, Denise was a member of the Save the Marina hospital committee and the Lions of Redondo Beach.

In her spare time, Denise enjoys traveling, surfing, fishing and spending time in her tropical garden. But her heart belongs to helping people.

"I love working toward a cause and making a difference," she said. "As I strive to provide a better quality of life for deserving seniors, my goal is to actively change the face of aging."

Farrah - General Manager

Farrah, General Manager

Farrah joined Home Instead Senior Care in 2009. She comes to us with extensive management experience in business operations, sales and marketing. She prides herself on creating a positive experience for clients and is delighted to have the opportunity to positively impact seniors and their families in her community. She has a deep appreciation for the life-changing impact an caregiver can have on an older adult. She is committed to supporting exceptional CAREGivers as they impact the client’s we serve.

In her role, Farrah is responsible for daily business operations and supports the rest of the team as needed. She is a native of the South Bay, attended El Camino College and received her B.A. in Social Science from Wheaton College in Illinois.

Ilona - Director of Client Care

Ilona, Director of Client Care

As Director of Client Care, Ilona meets with prospective clients, directs our Quality Assurance Program and offers support and resources to clients and their families and CAREGivers. Prior to joining Home Instead Senior Care in 2007, she spent 10 years as an Ombudsman advocating for seniors in Skilled Nursing Facilities and Residential Care Facilities.

Ilona brings a deep love of all people to her job and has a particular passion of older adults. She is a native Michigander and a proud mom of two sons and supports them in their many sports endeavors. She is also involved in her family’s strudel business.

Sandy - Staffing Coordinator

Sandy, Staffing Coordinator

Sandy decided to pursue a career as a caring professional as Home Instead Senior CAREGiver in 2016. After 15 years of restaurant management, she was seeking an opportunity to impact the lives of others. In June 2017, she joined our office staff as a Staffing Coordinator. In addition to overseeing scheduling, Sandy assists with various aspects of our operations including our recruiting efforts.

Sandy brings a personal commitment to enriching the lives of our clients and treating everyone with kindness and respect. Sandy is a South Bay native who is an avid movie goer, an amateur photographer and is always up for a road trip!

Nora - Client Care Coordinator

Nora, Client Care Coordinator

Nora was born in Corpus Christi, TX and joined our team in 2010 as a CAREGiver. After several years with another organization, she returned to Home Instead Senior Care in 2017 as a Staffing Coordinator. With 17 years of caregiving experience, including 5 of those years in a Coordinator, she brings patience, understanding and an unwavering passion to help improve the quality of life of others. She also uses her extensive caregiving knowledge to provide hands on training for our caregivers.

Caregiving opened Nora’s eyes to the reality of life and how we all age. The quality of our life as we enter our golden years is as important, if not more important as when we are young. She has a deep love for people and values the relationships she builds with CAREGivers, clients and their families.

Norma - Operations Coordinator

Norma, Operations Coordinator

Norma is a Southern California native. She comes to us with significant experience working in a variety of office environments. Most recently, she spent 6 years working for a different homecare agency, where she learned the basics of the industry. She joined our team in 2018 and is excited about the opportunity to impact the clients we serve.

Norma is our Operations Coordinator and has various administrative responsibilities with a primary focus on recruiting and hiring amazing CAREGivers for our team. In addition to helping our office function effectively, Norma has a huge creative side! She enjoys making jewelry, oil painting, photography and loves dragonflies!!!
