- By Car YamSuddenly our mother could not live alone and we planned to move her into a home with no more than 6 residents. We saw a few nice homes but needed some time to make the arrangements, we contacted Home Instead (HI) for temporary care. We were so DELIGHTED with the EXCEPTIONAL one-on-one care mom receives from her 2 caregivers, APRIL and DE JANE, that we stay with HI. Under their care, mom's health and hygiene has improved and she has gained weight. Although mom has memory concerns and uses a walker, April and De Jane take her out for daily activities like walks on the pier, restaurants, shopping and walks around her neighborhood. They take her to doctor appointments and pick up medications. They are more than caregivers, they are family. Our mother has 24-hour live-in care from Home Instead, Long Beach for two years.

We called Home Instead, Shavon came out immediately. She helped with the discharge and had a caregiver for us within an hour. The people are great and they have taken great care of my dad. The experience in CA is the one I am asked to rate. I would recommend Home Instead Senior Care with no reservation, but I would add that new customer should not hesitate to change care giver if the first one does not meet their needs. The first one sent out to my friend was not able to do a chore required, something specifically mentioned at the initial consultation. The subsequent replacement is great, someone who can perform the tasks expected and her personality matches well with that of the client.
