Meet Our Team

Valerie Hymel has a nursing (LPN) background in the military and in the civilian sector; she is a seasoned Talent Acquisition Specialist who rejoined Home Instead after years of working in Ohio, where she recruited emergency medicine physicians. She is responsible for managing the overall operations of the Lawrenceville franchise.  Her service in the Armed Forces (199^th Support Hospital and 159^th MASH), and managing experience make her the ideal candidate for the job. She loves helping people be the best they can be, and she uses her skills in coaching and mentoring to help them shine. She is passionate about leading teams to achieve their full potential. Originally from East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, Marlene obtained her bachelor's degree in psychology.  She spent many years working in the field of mental health in an array of environments such as shelters, residential facilities, detention centers and even in-home settings.  Marlene loves working for Home Instead because they truly care about their staff and the clients they care for.  She embraces the company’s mission to help enhance the quality of life for aging adults and she enjoys working as a team with people who genuinely care.

Alissa has been a registered nurse for over 15+ years. She earned her BSN while attending Georgia Baptist College of Nursing at Mercer University. After graduating, she began her career in the intensive care unit at the city’s number one trauma hospital. During her career she has worked in a variety of healthcare settings, including hospitals, surgical centers, home health care and hospice. Alissa is a caring compassionate nurse who believes in focusing on the whole person when caring for her clients. She is passionate about providing quality care while remaining mindful of her clients’ individual preferences and needs.

As a true native of North Metro Atlanta, Sandy and her husband have 2 sons studying at the University of North GA, who they homeschooled K-12. 

She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Valdosta State University and has a solid background in marketing and sales among her many years of corporate experience. 

Her bright energy and passion for people, along with a love of building, connecting and nurturing relationships in the community, are what brought her to HI as its newest marketer.  

Multiple life experiences with caregiving for loved ones, including hospice for her father who battled cancer for 9 years, allow her to serve with empathy and compassion. 

Sandy enjoys singing, acting, boating, hiking, camping, fishing, scuba diving, and traveling anywhere tropical. She spends many weekends leading worship and teens at her home church in Johns Creek.

Jane has served as the Finance Manager for Home Instead Senior Care since 2010. With more than 20 years’ experience in the finance field, she enjoys utilizing her business knowledge to foster great relationships between families and the office team. Jane recognizes the importance of the service Home Instead provides to our clients and loves that every day we make a difference in people’s lives.
