Meet Our Home Care Team

Jill 2 2

Jill Bowers, Director of Operations

​Jill discovered her passion for home care while attending San Francisco State University in 2007 when she was offered the opportunity to work as a one-on-one live-in caregiver, for her elderly family friend. She provided in-home care and support to her client, while simultaneously earning a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree with an emphasis in Art History.  In 2013 Jill joined the administrative side of home care and quickly displayed great leadership potential, becoming an essential part of management and earned a promotion as Operations Manager in 2015. Jill joined Home Instead in January of 2018 as Director of Operations.  Jill understands well the home care industry and supports her team in all facets. Jill brings a great “can-do” attitude and an innate desire to help the seniors and families we serve.  She currently resides in San Francisco and enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and her dog.

Susan 2

Susan Anastasio, Director of Business Development

Susan has been active in the healthcare industry for over 20 years, working closely with physicians, case managers, social workers, fiduciaries, and other healthcare professionals ensuring excellent communication and coordination of client needs. She has served on the Membership Committee of CMSA San Francisco/East Bay Chapter.  Susan loves the relationships she's cultivated over her 20+ years in living and working in San Francisco and thrives in identifying synergies among our partners and bridging partnerships among our senior community providers.

Liz Vaughn - Care Manager

Liz joins the Home Instead team with over 12 years of experience in Senior Care.  Graduating from Chico State with a degree in Recreational Therapy and a focus on Gerantology Liz has applied her education in a very hands-on approach as a CAREGiver, Senior Living Activities Director, and Care Manager.  Liz brings a multi-disciplinary approach and skill set to her role of Care Manager and it shows in all aspects of her work.
Victoria

Victoria Black, Director of Care Management, Gerontologist

​Victoria Black, received her Masters of Art in Gerontology at San Francisco State University and has actively been working with the elderly in San Francisco for just over 10 years. Her Master's thesis emphasized the idea of creating and maintaining a Quality of Life at the End of Life and it has truly been her passion to ensure that older adults have the highest level of care while maintaining their dignity and independence. Victoria is excited to bring her experience and knowledge to the Home Instead team and is ready to collaborate and continue to grow with the Home Instead San Francisco.

Ryan 4

Ryan Santiago, Director of Staffing

Ryan has been with Home Instead San Francisco since 2000. Ryan takes very seriously his role in identifying CAREGivers that would be the best fit for our clients.  He brings a lot of personal and professional experience including office and operations management as well technical support analysis – in addition to his warm and friendly demeanor. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, being a “foodie”, ballroom and Philippine Folk dancing, watching Thai drama shows “Lakorns”, traveling around the world, and enjoying life.

Gerald

Gerald Medina, HR & Recruitment Manager

Gerald attended UC Merced where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Psychology.  He has been working in the Human Resources/Recruiting field since 2016.  This is his first time working in the home care industry and he is very passionate about helping serve our senior community!  He lives in a Filipino household where they emphasize the saying "family first".  As a loving grandson, he enjoys being able to take care of his Grandma and assisting her with her daily life. His Grandma has done so much for him since he was a kid, from changing his diapers to feeding him the best Filipino food while growing up. He would do anything to give back to his Grandma.  He is very happy to be working in this industry, partly because his Grandma means so much to him.  He wants to give back to all the families taking care of their own grandparents. In his free time, he enjoys eating outside, traveling, hiking, and break dancing!

Johnika Carter, Recruitment Coordinator

Johnika Carter is an ambitious individual with an unwavering commitment to provide quality customer service and support to everyone she encounters.  She joins Home Instead following 6 years of experience in the Senior Living Industry.  Johnika realized her calling to help seniors at an early age after volunteering at a local Senior Living community for those living with cognitive impairments.  She has been on all sides of senior care, from concierge to caregiver and even management. Providing quality care for seniors and support for our staff is her true passion, and fills her with enormous gratification.

Peachy

Peachy De Jesus R.N. - Training Coordinator

Peachy brings to Home Instead San Francisco a wealth of knowledge and experience as our CAREGiver skills trainer.  Peachy also serves as a professor at a San Francisco-based C.N.A. school where she has been teaching Certified Nurse Assistant certification courses for almost a decade. She is a Registered Nurse, Public Health Nurse and holds a Bachelor degree in Nursing.

With over 26 years as a healthcare professional, she has worked in both medical and non-medical settings, serving clients in Long Term Care Facilities, Acute Care, Home Health, and Hospice. She found her passion in teaching students and feels great pride when her students succeed in their profession.

Frankie 4

Frankie Woodruff, Office Coordinator

Frankie greatly enjoys his work as Office Coordinator and the interaction with Clients, CAREGivers, and Staff. He has worked at non-profits, both in human services and in environmental preservation, for over 15 years.  After 12 years in the Information Technology field, he has returned to office management and uses his talent in both fields to help with efficiency and logistics.

George

George Beckstead, Executive Coach

​George has been with Home Instead since 2014.  George works closely with our team as an executive performance coach to ensure we maintain the highest levels of service to our clients.  George brings with him a rich background, all of which tie into his current role at Home Instead.  From his coaching at 4 Olympic Games and 12 World Championships to his background in teaching and physical education George is an unparalleled resource for Home Instead San Francisco.  George is very motivated to help clients and staff enjoy a positive experience with his support at Home Instead San Francisco.

Karen Rono, Service Supervisor

Karen brings with her over 17 years in the home-care industry where she has overseen departments in Staffing, Care Management, and Human Resources.  Karen also has earned a certificate as a Home Health Aide. She has an immense passion for geriatric health care and is a huge advocate for the CAREGivers that comprise our Care Team.

LaKeasha Pittman, Service Coordinator

​Keasha was first introduced to home health while in graduate school in 2016.  She joined the Home Instead San Francisco team in 2019, where she provides after-hours and weekend support for client service and staffing. She has a Master's Degree in Social Work and has experience providing geriatric mental health services and coordination of care.   Keasha enjoys fusing her passion for traveling and mental health and has volunteered and provided consultation in Ghana, United Arab Emirates, and Mexico.
