Meet Our Home Care Team

Marie Hanks, BSN, RN, Owner, President

Marie is a Registered Nurse and is excited to be a Home Instead franchise owner. She graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. After working several years in business she was drawn to the health care field. She returned to school and received her second degree in nursing at Thomas Jefferson University. Her nursing experience with adult and geriatric patients contributed to her strong interest in quality home care for seniors. She believes in the mission of Home Instead and her passion is to provide excellent care and companionship while helping seniors live safely and independently in their own homes.

Greg Hanks, Owner, CFO

Greg is happy to join his daughter Marie as a Home Instead franchise owner. He is a retired Orthopedic Surgeon after a very gratifying 35 year career in medicine. His interest in Senior Care began as a teenager. His mother owned and operated a skilled nursing facility. Greg held several after school and summer jobs there including physical therapy assistant, cook and housekeeper. He later was an advisor to his mother in the business for several years.

As an Orthopedic Surgeon his care for elderly continued. He treated thousands of adults and seniors and always cherished caring for them. After his mother became ill, she lived with Greg and his family in their home. She had caring Home Health Aides assisting in her care which allowed her to stay in their home for the remainder of her life. Being a franchise owner allows Greg to continue his family’s dream of caring of the elderly.

Linda Murphy, Billing/Payroll

Linda first walked through the doors of Home Instead in May of 2004 and has come to consider all of us who work here, as well as our clients, as part of her extended family. Linda says, “Whether it's our clients, our caregivers, or my co-workers, someone makes you laugh or smile almost every day! It is quite gratifying to be involved with such a fabulous organization whose mission is to simply assist others with their needs.” An empty-nester, Linda resides in Bethlehem and enjoys spending time with her grandchildren.

Julie Kish, Client Care Coordinator & On-call Supervisor

It is a privilege to say that I have been with Home Instead Senior Care since 2004, working in various positions. As Client Care Coordinator and On-Call Supervisor there is joy and satisfaction in working with Clients and their families to make a difference in their lives and help them say in their homes…wherever that may be! I have lived in the Lehigh Valley most of my life. I am married and have two daughters, a son and a dog named “Ford”! My parents have recently moved in with my family, and we have all taken on a greater appreciation for what it means to “age in place”. The joys and the struggles of living as a family with multi-generations have allowed me to better understand and serve our families. As always, I am pleased to assist our seniors to remain independent in their homes as long as possible.

Lisa Andrews, Client Care Coordinato & Quality Assurance r

After the passing of her grandmother (age 104), who had a caregiver from Home Instead, Lisa joined Home Instead as a Caregiver in 2010, worked in the office in 2011 as a Schedule and is now Client Care Coordinator/Quality Assurance. She is married to her husband Dave. They have two sons, Michael and David. In her spare time, she enjoys watching her son, David, play ice hockey, and her son, Michael, enjoys horseback riding. Lisa is a huge dog-lover, has a Rottweiler named "Baby" and will always be involved with dogs in some capacity. Lisa enjoys helping others and giving seniors the respect they so deserve.

Joanna McDevitt, Scheduling Coordinator

Since 2006, Joanna has worked with seniors in a variety of positions, including caregiver, therapeutic recreation, and now as a scheduling coordinator for Home Instead. Before that she cared for her beloved grandfather who had Alzheimer's. In her free time, Joanna enjoys an assortment of nerdy pursuits such as history, theology, birdwatching, music, and sewing. As well as spoiling her two kitty-cat-daughters, Henrietta and Luna, Joanna is also a graduate of Penn State University and is a member of the Embroiderers Guild of America.

‚ÄčLori went to Northampton Area Community College as an adult learner earning 58 credits in Secretarial Sciences. After working part time for a few years as a secretary, Lori accepted a position at Ben Franklin Technology Partners where she worked for 20 years. After retiring, Lori was looking for something to do with her time and was inspired to become a Home Instead Senior Care CAREGiver. Today Lori not only cares for a very special client but also serves as an evening and every other weekend On Call Coordinator. Lori is married to husband, Blaine, and they have a son, Steven, grandson, Mitchell, and kitty MarkE. In Lori's free time she is an avid seamstress.

Bev was the very first Lehigh Valley Senior Care dba Home Instead CAREGiver! This was because she had been friends with the original owner's wife since high school!

All these years later, Bev says, “It has always been a pleasure to work here. I enjoyed working with clients because I am a giving person, and I like making new friends. I have experienced health issues myself.”

Today Bev serves as the Office Support Person which means she answers phones, prepares folders, prepares the monthly newsletters, and anything else that needs doing.
