"We have been utilizing the services of Home Instead Mesa for several years now to assist my Mom with some things, such as meal prep, cleaning, care and companionship, as she desires to stay in her own home. Recently, however, my Mom had a very big day, her only granddaughter was getting married. Several months before the wedding, we realized that getting my Mom to the ceremony was going to be a bit tricky, due to immediate family (i.e. mother of the bride, father of the bride and brother of the bride duties). I asked Home Instead if there could be a caregiver who could help my Mom get ready, get her to the Church and reception and take her home when she was ready. Home Instead had the perfect person. Lisa feels more like a family friend, to my Mom, than hired help. Lisa graciously volunteered to help my Mom and be her immediate companion and plus one for the wedding. Lisa helped her get ready, got her to the Church on time and celebrated with her at the dinner reception. And, when my Mom was ready to go, Lisa made certain she was home safely, from the big day, and comfortable in her home after a long, happy but tiring day. I really appreciate Home Instead finding the perfect person, for my Mom for the day, not only to assist her, but to also be her perfect plus one. Lisa joined in the celebrations and was truly a valued "family member" for my Mom and for us."

The team I work with endeavors to provide professional care while keeping the compassion and empathy for all clients and care pros. "My dad has lived alone since Mom died several years ago. None of us are local but we have tried to maintain his health and safety from afar. It clearly was no longer enough. We attempted a move him to assisted living but he refused to go. He didn't remember agreeing to it. He has a form of dementia that significantly affects memory. And adjusting to anything new is very difficult. We were concerned that adding people into the house to help would be stressful and confusing.

However, Home Instead has made the transition smooth and comfortable. The Care team, Rose, Lynn, Lisa and Linda are marvelous. Dad truly enjoys their company, as they enjoy him. Someone comes every day for 4 hours making sure he has dinner and food for other meals he makes. They are alert to changes in his health and safety, reporting any issues that come up. And they help maintain the house (it hasn't been this clean for years). They enjoy talking together and outings, like short walks and trips to the grocery store.

I call often, and visit about every 6 weeks. He seems happier and healthier than he has for a long time. All of the Care-Pro ladies I've met have been very supportive and have made his living alone more manageable. For us, too. It's such a worry to have him down there by himself.

From our point of view, and equally valuable, is the office and management staff. The administrative aspect and communication can be daunting. But the initial setup was straightforward and anytime I call (which isn't often needed) they are able to help. We feel blessed that we found such a great team of people.

"5 stars for my caregiver Bernadette B.! From the start Bernadette has always given me a sense of sereneness. She instills in me a sense of confidence- she is a top notch cheerleader. Always always you find her with a cheerful smile.Her willingness to do anything for you is always there. She is a very big reason I have progressed to the point where I am today. It is a long list of what Bernadette does for me but it can be summed up into “whatever I need”. I have grown fond of her and I look forward to the days she comes to my house because I know it will be a good day. Also a big shout out to Patty D. She is a very hard worker and a very very nice person."

"After a severe ankle and leg surgery my husband underwent open-heart surgery. initially I felt confident that I could handle the time at home alone. After a potentially dangerous fall, I realized I would need help. I reached out to Home Instead and was immediately impressed by their care and support. The first moment I met Christie I fell in love with the company. Her kind, caring and compassionate nature told me I had been adopted by family. On 21 October I met Amanda the supervisor of my care professionals. Our initial meeting involved formulating a care plan with goals which included some much-needed and neglected self-care. It became clear in my hectic and frazzled life that I needed structure more than anything else. Perla who was my first care professional took care of numerous tasks that had been unattended for a very long time. At the end of the day, she took care of being sure that my front yard was decorated for Halloween. Perhaps not the most important detail, but important to me. Next was Lynn Ann who helped me set up my easel which had been abandoned in a place I could not easily get to. She set it up in a place where I could be in the center of the house; instead of closed up in a room. Next came Demaree who came in and immediately got to work organizing my kitchen and inspiring some needed changes. I met Tiffany who came in and replaced a care professional who was unable to complete her shift. Amanda introduced me to Angela who served as a replacement when a last minute emergency arose with a care professional. She then went above and beyond taking a last minute shift as my husband was readmitted to the hospital due to an infection. This company has built a structure to care compassionately for families in need of companionship, supervision, and assistance with daily tasks. I have met many care aides with Home Instead due to the temporary nature of our situation. My husband Ken joined us when he required a ride home from rehab as I am unable to drive. At that time he was also able to receive care from the care professionals at little cost. The past 4 weeks have been an amazing experience. There are only 2 downsides the first is I can not keep them busy enough as they are so efficient at their tasks that they have completed them before I know they have begun. The other is that on the 30th of November we will say a sad so long. We will definitely use Home Instead as needs arise in the future."

"December 2022 my sister had a knee replacement. She lives alone and we knew she would need a lot of help at first.
I had used Home Instead years ago and was pleased, so called to see if they could help around the clock for a week. They could and boy did they do a great job! All the staff (medical and office) were fantastic. Although it's was a chunk of money, we all felt it was worth every penny. She got great care, the communication and scheduling was great and my sister got such good care giving us all great piece of mind. We'll use them again if ever needed."

"I wound up using Home Instead in both November, 2022 for my Dad and then again in May, 2023 for my mom. This was a task I did not want to do - no one wants their loved one(s) to need this kind of care. This time, when I contacted them I told them I had an immediate need as my mom was being released from the hospital the next day, and I needed the help. They called me that evening with a schedule and provided me with the names of those would be covering the time frame. I used the services for 3 days/nights and then cared for her myself for 10 days. I found that it was becoming too much for me, so I reached out to them again, and that day I heard back from them, again with a full schedule (AM/PM) and the caregivers' names.

Although the caregivers were all awesome and checked all the boxes I deemed necessary for my mom's care (I was picky), this time a few names stood out: Georgine and Gozal.

Georgine - I was amazed by Georgine's physical strength as she helped lift my mom up/down as needed. My mom was afraid of falling and Georgine said to her, "If I thought I could not carry you, I would not have taken this assignment." It was those words that my mother relaxed and immediately began trusting her. To her I am grateful.

Gozal - She was so gentle with Mom too. When she was administering her medicine, she would always touch mom's arm and announce what she was doing (Georgine did that too), so mom would not startle. She was soft-spoken and compassionate too.

With both gals, I appreciate their compassion and devotion to not only my mom's care, but the tasks at hand. They always were communicative with me and were on-time when it was time for medication again.

Thank you, Home Instead, for listening to my comments, taking my calls and following up on the care both of my parents were getting, as it was all happening. I recommend this organization to anyone who is contemplating home care, especially if you feel you are stuck. Having your loved ones at home was so important for me - they hear the noises, and they know they are home and safe. It's important in the journey. Give yourself some grace and consider getting some help if you need it - they know when you are calling them, that there is a sense of urgency. Make sure to tell them EXACTLY the type of caregiver you are wanting - down to the last detail, after all, it's important. Best of luck to all who find this journey necessary, and my heart goes out to all those who are experiencing the same thing I did with both my parents. J"

"My wife has dementia, undoubtedly Alzheimer's. When it became too much for me to handle on my own I reached out for help. I signed up with Home Instead, and they have been wonderful! I interact with two women on the phone-- scheduling, changes, all the managerial aspects. Sierra and Michelle answer my calls promptly. They are knowledgeable, courteous, always pleasant. They listen well; there has never been a sour note.

Our caretakers are even better! Tina is thoughtful and kind, diligent, has a warm heart, and is always looking for more that she can do to help. She makes the whole house happier with her unfailing cheerfulness. Keatha, our second caretaker, is compassionate and empathetic. She is observant, and has the initiative to act on those observations. I especially like the companionship she has developed with my wife, who brightens up when they are together. There is lots of laughter when Keatha is here!

I cannot overstate the wonderful impact these two women have made in our home."

"Our caregiver Alia has been with us for over a year caring for my mom. She has provided excellent care for my mom, giving me the peace of mind to go to work each day. Alia is conscientious and reliable and my parents think of her as family. Home Instead has been wonderful to work with. They constantly communicate with me on anything that I should be aware of. I highly recommend them to anyone needing care for a family member."

"I would like to express my feelings about two of the care givers who took care of me while I was wheel chair bound. Their names are Patty and Bernadette. The care they provided went above what was required of them and done with great compassion and care. If I were to be in this position again, I definitely would request either of them. "I would like to provide a five star rating for KAY, who is the Home Instead caregiver assigned to my 86 year old friend Rose D by the Home Instead office in Mesa, Arizona. Kay's help with ambulation, bathing, meds, light housekeeping and errands--such as shopping to make sure there is always HEALTHY food in the fridge--has made it possible for my friend to live as independently as she wants to, in her own home--and that means the WORLD to Rose, and to me, as Rose's long distance caregiver. Kay has come to feel like a trusted member of Rose's extended family.

I would also like to leave a positive review here for Cierra, Home Instead's scheduler and care coordinator in the Mesa office. Being able to communicate with Cierra about any changes in Rose's caregiving schedule --and being able to ask for help with occasional special needs, like transporting Rose to CVS for her COVID booster shot, has truly been a godsend. I can't say enough good things about the Home Instead team in Mesa. Highly recommend if you have a family member who needs in-home support."
