"I wound up using Home Instead in both November, 2022 for my Dad and then again in May, 2023 for my mom. This was a task I did not want to do - no one wants their loved one(s) to need this kind of care. This time, when I contacted them I told them I had an immediate need as my mom was being released from the hospital the next day, and I needed the help. They called me that evening with a schedule and provided me with the names of those would be covering the time frame. I used the services for 3 days/nights and then cared for her myself for 10 days. I found that it was becoming too much for me, so I reached out to them again, and that day I heard back from them, again with a full schedule (AM/PM) and the caregivers' names.
Although the caregivers were all awesome and checked all the boxes I deemed necessary for my mom's care (I was picky), this time a few names stood out: Georgine and Gozal.
Georgine - I was amazed by Georgine's physical strength as she helped lift my mom up/down as needed. My mom was afraid of falling and Georgine said to her, "If I thought I could not carry you, I would not have taken this assignment." It was those words that my mother relaxed and immediately began trusting her. To her I am grateful.
Gozal - She was so gentle with Mom too. When she was administering her medicine, she would always touch mom's arm and announce what she was doing (Georgine did that too), so mom would not startle. She was soft-spoken and compassionate too.
With both gals, I appreciate their compassion and devotion to not only my mom's care, but the tasks at hand. They always were communicative with me and were on-time when it was time for medication again.
Thank you, Home Instead, for listening to my comments, taking my calls and following up on the care both of my parents were getting, as it was all happening. I recommend this organization to anyone who is contemplating home care, especially if you feel you are stuck. Having your loved ones at home was so important for me - they hear the noises, and they know they are home and safe. It's important in the journey. Give yourself some grace and consider getting some help if you need it - they know when you are calling them, that there is a sense of urgency. Make sure to tell them EXACTLY the type of caregiver you are wanting - down to the last detail, after all, it's important. Best of luck to all who find this journey necessary, and my heart goes out to all those who are experiencing the same thing I did with both my parents. J"

"My wife has dementia, undoubtedly Alzheimer's. When it became too much for me to handle on my own I reached out for help. I signed up with Home Instead, and they have been wonderful! I interact with two women on the phone-- scheduling, changes, all the managerial aspects. Sierra and Michelle answer my calls promptly. They are knowledgeable, courteous, always pleasant. They listen well; there has never been a sour note.
Our caretakers are even better! Tina is thoughtful and kind, diligent, has a warm heart, and is always looking for more that she can do to help. She makes the whole house happier with her unfailing cheerfulness. Keatha, our second caretaker, is compassionate and empathetic. She is observant, and has the initiative to act on those observations. I especially like the companionship she has developed with my wife, who brightens up when they are together. There is lots of laughter when Keatha is here!
I cannot overstate the wonderful impact these two women have made in our home."

"Our caregiver Alia has been with us for over a year caring for my mom. She has provided excellent care for my mom, giving me the peace of mind to go to work each day. Alia is conscientious and reliable and my parents think of her as family. Home Instead has been wonderful to work with. They constantly communicate with me on anything that I should be aware of. "I would like to express my feelings about two of the care givers who took care of me while I was wheel chair bound. Their names are Patty and Bernadette. The care they provided went above what was required of them and done with great compassion and care. If I were to be in this position again, I definitely would request either of them. "I would like to provide a five star rating for KAY, who is the Home Instead caregiver assigned to my 86 year old friend Rose D by the Home Instead office in Mesa, Arizona. Kay's help with ambulation, bathing, meds, light housekeeping and errands--such as shopping to make sure there is always HEALTHY food in the fridge--has made it possible for my friend to live as independently as she wants to, in her own home--and that means the WORLD to Rose, and to me, as Rose's long distance caregiver. Kay has come to feel like a trusted member of Rose's extended family.
I would also like to leave a positive review here for Cierra, Home Instead's scheduler and care coordinator in the Mesa office. Being able to communicate with Cierra about any changes in Rose's caregiving schedule --and being able to ask for help with occasional special needs, like transporting Rose to CVS for her COVID booster shot, has truly been a godsend. I can't say enough good things about the Home Instead team in Mesa. Highly recommend if you have a family member who needs in-home support."

"We are very satisfied with the in-home care for my mother provided by Home Instead Mesa, AZ. HI Mesa has some excellent caregivers and supervisors. Some of the care givers developed a close bond with my mother while always taking care of regular activities. Plus I think some went above and beyond. Of course, these are people and there is a range of backgrounds, skills, and personalities. Overall, we are very pleased. The back office support and communication is excellent: responsive, courteous, follow-thru, and coordinates very well with the field staff. My family and I highly recommend Home Instead, Mesa, AZ.

"I have been working with home instead for close to 5 years now. Both my parents need significant levels of care and we are lucky enough to provide this for them within their own home. We have cycled through evolving needs over the years (degenerative neurological diseases) and have had many caregivers in our home during this time. Most caregivers have been an excellent fit--compassionate, patient, reliable, knowledgeable, professional, and great communication. The staffers are easy to work with, as well. If a problem arises, home instead is quick to resolve it. I am so very thankful to have this service.. especially now, with the uncertainty of covid."

"My wife , who had been healthy and active, was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer this Spring and, because it had gotten in her spine by June, she also became paralyzed from the chest down. So we had Home Instead caregivers for 12 hours every day (I had a full time job, although it became part time under the circumstances), and some nights. They provided excellent care, were friendly and professional, on time, and willing to do whatever was asked of them, whether simply keeping her company or helping to change briefs or helping give a shower in a shower wheelchair. Beyond that, my wife became good friends with some of them. The company was also able to arrange for caregivers on short notice when necessary, such as when learning of a discharge from a hospital stay without a lot of advance warning. Very highly recommended."

"My experience with Home Instead has been very smooth. From scheduling to accounting to involving a manager the response time was fast and any issues were always solved in a timely manner.
