- By Richard G.I have nothing but the highest praise for the La Mesa Home Instead office on Jackson Drive. The entire office staff is highly professional and they went out of their way to ensure that my caregiver needs over the past year were met using exceptionally well-qualified caregivers. They were extremely flexible in modifying my schedule on a number of occasions in order to accommodate short term caregiver changes I had to make due to such things as appointments and overnight guests. But the best feature of all in dealing with this office is the quality of the caregivers themselves who are sent out to take care of my wife, an Alzheimer’s patient. They have all been highly professional and work with her on activities to help keep her as mentally and physically active as possible. For example, they’ll take her for walks, play simple games and work on a wide variety of craft projects. My wife considers them her friends and enjoys each of their visits. I have never hesitated to leave the house with a Home Instead caregiver here because I’m confident my wife is receiving the care and attention she needs.

They work very hard to provide caregivers that are good matches for mom’s needs and personality, and the few times it hasn’t worked out, they quickly find someone who’s a better fit. They proactively communicate, have an organized business model, and work hard to find good caregivers despite the challenges of COVID and a shortage of caregivers. They had strict COVID protocols in place during the height of the pandemic and are still following COVID-safe practices. When COVID vaccines were first approved, their office proactively hosted two on-site vaccination clinics in collaboration with CalFire to provide the first and second shots for their staff as well as clients to make it easier for their clients to be protected. All the office staff as well as caregivers are very nice, and the care and well-being of their clients is of the utmost importance.

My aunt in Oklahoma is also thrilled with her Home Instead caregivers. We have been very happy with the Caregiver teams that have been helping us for 4 years, 5-7 days a week. The Office staff and caregivers are all caring, efficient, and on time, with a rare exception, usually due to traffic. Anyone using long-term care insurance ,would be glad to know that Home Instead is well versed in working with long-term care insurance...and does so with efficiency. - By PMWThis is the 3rd caregiving company we have worked with over the past year and is definitely the best. Mom has caregivers 4 hours twice a day to help with personal care, physical therapy, making meals, and ambulation. They seem to be an organized office with dedicated staff that cover specific critical areas (e.g., HR, staffing, billing, etc). There is a significant focus on education and training of caregivers for caregiving activities as well as medical knowledge for commonly encountered diseases of the elderly. They work hard to match caregivers to the medical and physical needs of the client as well as personality fit. When a new caregiver is assigned, they always shadow another caregiver so there is at least some introductory crossover. There have been very few issues but when they happen, they are addressed very quickly and compassionately.
