Today their Home Instead Senior Care businesses Jax Home Health Inc., Prestige Home Care Inc., and Magnolia Home Health LLC employ close to 600 full-time and part-time employees. Theirs are among the top three largest of the Home Instead Senior Care operations, which consist of over 1,100 offices in 12 countries.

Looking for an opportunity to work together and own their own business, Dave and Malorie decided to combine their specific areas of expertise in the growing healthcare field. The Hills were impressed with the professionalism and sincerity exhibited by the Home Instead Senior Care corporate staff in Omaha, Nebraska. Thus began what has turned out to be a truly rewarding adventure of developing into one of the top three owner/operators of Home Instead Senior Care's network of franchise business owners.

Native Buckeyes David and Malorie have had their office headquarters located in Jacksonville Florida since 1997. They also have offices in Saint Augustine FL., Palm Coast FL., Mason OH., Savannah GA., and Hilton Head SC.

The Hills purchased two existing Home Instead Senior Care offices located in the suburbs of Cincinnati Ohio in 2012 to add to their three Home Instead Senior Care offices located in Northeast Florida. "We loved the idea of expanding our quality-first home care business to the state where we spent over 40 years of our lives".

Once again, the opportunity to grow Home Instead remarkable services presented itself in 2019 and the Hills added the Savannah GA territory which included Hilton Head SC and neighboring communities in Beaufort and Jasper Counties.

Shane Thompson is the Chief Executive Officer of six Home Instead businesses serving offices located in Mason OH; Savannah GA; Hilton Head SC; Jacksonville FL; St Augustine FL; and Palm Coast FL.  

As CEO, Shane governs the strategic direction and collaboration of the Executive & Senior Leadership team network; facilitates emerging solutions while cultivating innovative opportunities; provides leadership on key business initiatives and manages the day-to-day operations of all six Home Instead business.

Shane is an accomplished business leader with vast experience as a former business owner with a proven track-record of transforming highly complex challenges into relevant sustained solutions and opportunities. 

Prior to this role, Shane was the President of the Home Instead Savannah GA territory which includes Hilton Head SC and the neighboring communities of Beaufort and Jasper counties from 2019-2021.

Shane is fortunate to do work that really matters in collaboration with the Executive & Senior Leadership team.  Thomas Jefferson said, ‘Far and away the best prize that life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing’.

Maureen was born the youngest of eight children and raised in Savannah on the river at Whitmarsh Island where she still loves anything to do with water; swimming, boating, crabbing, you name it! She is married to her husband Dave and has two great sons – Brandon & Justin. Her family has expanded to add a wonderful daughter-in-law; Bea, a granddaughter; Aidan and a grandson, Asher. Maureen's whole career has been geared toward helping seniors. She was a licensed Nursing Home Administrator for over 21 years and worked at a retirement community for 18 years; the last 6 as the Executive Director. Still wanting to help seniors in some way after leaving the retirement community, she was "caught up" in the wonderful CAREGiving philosophy of Home Instead Senior Care and enjoys overseeing the day to day operations to ensure our senior treasures are given loving, quality care! ​​

Lisa Atkinson serves as Chief Marketing Officer for 6 office franchises of Home Instead. She brings over twenty-five years of experience in the healthcare industry and embodies effective communication and interpersonal skills. In addition to directing the development of new business, Lisa facilitates the formulation and implementation of new business strategies and develops relationships and partnerships throughout all of the 6 franchise businesses. As C.M.O., Lisa works closely with the Marketing Teams, Leadership Team and Business Owners to seek out opportunity and fuel growth. She is very passionate about connecting the right resources to the right people at the right time. She truly lives, To Us, It’s Personal.

Akia was born and raised in Savannah, GA and graduated from Savannah High School. She has worked in healthcare for 16 years and loves to bring a smile to any individual’s face she encounters. In her spare time, she loves to read, listen to music and try new recipes. One day, she plans to open her own personal care home and provide quality care for seniors in the community.

Akia believes that integrity and respect are necessities in life and Akia remains determined to make an impact wherever she goes. She has an associate's degree in Surgical Technology, but helping seniors is her true passion.

Sherri Seagraves, Service Coordinator

Sherri is from Valdosta, GA and moved to Asheboro, NC where she grew up. Sherri is a true Sothern Belle and loves spending time with family and enjoys the outdoors. She loves the water, and her ideal way to spend a cold winter night is to sit by a campfire, and drink hot chocolate. Sherri first started working in health care in 2016 where was a CAREGiver for Home Instead in Jacksonville, FL. She worked with a client and loved motivating her to get out of her room and attend different activities at the community she lived in. Sherri was attending Virginia College at the time getting her certification in Medical Assisting but loved working with seniors so much that she wanted to keep working with the seniors. She worked for an assisted living community in Hahira, GA where she gained a lot of her skills and experience. Sherri moved to Savannah and is so excited for this new opportunity that God, and Home Instead has blessed her with. She is ready to learn and gain knowledge and strives to do her best at everything she does and is always up for a good challenge. She wants to gain as much knowledge as she possibly can, because she dreams of opening her own Health Care Facility one day. Sherri is pleased to be a part of our Home Instead family and we are so happy to have her with us!

Carol Sullivan, Service Coordinator

Carol Sullivan Sanders is a native of Mississippi and has lived in Savannah for more than twenty years. Carol was married to William Sanders for more than twenty years and is a mother to Brandon, Brent, and a grandmother to Mila.  She loves spending time with her family, reading, traveling and anything that has to do with research. She is always ready and available to expand her knowledge, assist others and be a beacon of light to those in need. Carol is that instrument that guides or gives hope to others. She worked for Chatham County Public Schools for twelve years as a Resource Coordinator and contracted with the Department of Family & Children Services for over fifteen years. She helped organize and implement the first Safe Place Program for women and children in Savannah, GA. Carol received a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Savannah State University, a Master of Education from Armstrong Atlantic State University and completed her doctoral studies at Nova Southeastern University. She believes that morals are the compass for relationships and values shaping the possibilities for final destinations. Regardless of what our plans are in life, it is more important to treat others as you would like to be treated. Dignity, Honesty, Integrity and Respect are just a few pillars of her life.

Naysa Scott, Recruitment & Engagement Coordinator

Admirer of Savannah’s charm and hospitality, Naysa relocated from Columbus, Ohio where she worked as a Long-Term Care Staff Engagement Liaison for the Columbus Ombudsman’s office. Overseeing the region’s nursing home facilities Quality Assurance & Improvement Project, Naysa worked directly with administrators on their recruitment and engagement strategies.  

Naysa received her Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a concentration in health care administration from Shawnee State University. She also obtained a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in health care management from Columbia Southern University. 

Driven by understanding the importance of compassion, empathy and providing quality care, Naysa strives to discover and retain the most qualified CAREGivers who will provide excellent care to the clients of Home Instead and who will positively represent themselves and the company.  Naysa is so proud of  her kind and brilliant daughter, Haylen, who is currently attending both The Ohio State University and the Savannah College of Art & Design. When not at work, Naysa can be found exploring the hostess city’s history with her two beloved doggies, Alfie, and Lola.

Deb joined Home Instead in 2021 to support strategic growth as a Home Care Consultant. She has more than 10 years’ experience in business development and home-based care. Deb began her career in home-based care in 2014 with ClearCaptions where she managed progressive responsibilities as an account executive and Title IV ADA Specialist. She also has experience as a medical equipment leasing and finance specialist with a focus on business development. Deb earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Canisius College, Buffalo, NY. She lives in the Savannah area with her husband and furry friends.

Jennifer Chandler, Home Care Consultant/Client Care Coordinator

Jennifer serves as a Home Care consultant, focusing on marketing and sales for Hilton Head Island, Bluffton and Beaufort areas. She contributes to Home Instead’s overall strategic direction, including developing long term and short term business transformation and culture.

Before Jennifer joined Home Instead in 2021, She spent over 10 years + working in senior living. Jennifer has worked in assisted living, memory and skilled nursing communities, along with working in home health and hospice companies.  Jennifer has a huge heart and compassion for the elderly. She has always wanted to make a difference in someone’s life and has been proven through all of her experiences. Jennifer holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Human Ecology Child and Family Services which is a study under Social Work from the University of Tennessee. Her civic engagements extends to several organizations including presently with Hilton Head Humane Society and past with the Junior League of Savannah. Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family, friends and her dog.

Jennifer also enjoys baking and cooking for others.
