As an Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic and Registered Nurse since the seventies I have worked as a “first-responder”, EMS Field Operations Supervisor, Director of Operations, and Chief Operating Officer both in Florida and Louisiana. I have worked as a RN in ICU, Dialysis, Emergency Department (as a Certified Emergency Nurse), a flight nurse and as a Psychiatric and Hospice Nurse. As a Nurse Manager, I have worked as a Charge Nurse, Nursing Supervisor, and Director of Emergency & Out-Patient Services. As faculty, I have instructed EMT/Paramedic, Nursing continuing Education, CPR Basic Life Support, and multiple City, County and State agencies in the Medical Response to Terrorism for the St. Petersburg College. During my tenure at Concorde Career Institute I served as a classroom and Clinical Instructor in the Patient Care Technician Program, the Campus Safety Officer and an American Heart Association CPR Training Center Coordinator. I have received an AS and AA degree from St. Petersburg College and have completed many Undergraduate Adult Education classes at the University of South Florida. I remain an adjunct faculty member at Concorde Career Institute -Tampa, as an Instructor within the Medical Assistant Program, with additional duties as an American Heart Association BLS for the Healthcare Provider Instructor Trainer.
At long last I have found my way to Home Instead Senior Care as the Training Coordinator. Although my tenure is short (since December of 2016) I subscribe wholeheartedly to our philosophy of assisting our Clients to age within their own homes by helping them remain as healthy (physically, emotionally and socially) as possible. My wish, as I continue to age, is to do exactly that. I have found our staff and Caregivers to be totally dedicated to this philosophy.
On a personal note allow me to say that I continue to enjoy my relationship with the love of my life, our three children, 4 grandchildren, and our16-month-old Golden Retriever rescue Gracie.
