The 18th year of "Be a Santa to a Senior" was another great success! Home Instead partnered with Meals on Wheels of Jefferson County and the United Way of Central Alabama to deliver gifts to over 500 seniors in Jefferson County, who will now have a special gift to open on Christmas Day 🙂

The long-running event has established itself as a holiday staple in several local communities. The gift bags are filled with festive items including gloves, calendars, blankets, combs, puzzles and bath towels.

The holiday season is known for its festive atmosphere. However, for seniors who are lonely or isolated, it can be everything but that.

That's why the Be a Santa to a Senior program, which strives to help people in need by providing gifts, was created! For some, this will be the only present many clients receive this holiday season.

This year, many seniors in Jefferson County will also get a handcrafted mini-Christmas tree. The trees were donated by a local artist who wants to help elders get into the holiday spirit.

We are honored to partner with such impactful organizations that help so many Senior Adults in Birmingham and the surrounding area!
