Reed and Kate

Reed Kovalan, Franchise Owner

Reed and his wife, Kate, started their Home Instead franchise in 2004. In 2012 they expanded and bought a second Home Instead franchise. They were drawn to the field based on their respect for our senior population and desire to help. Prior to the Home Instead, Reed was in corporate finance and Kate worked as a CPA. Kate and Reed have been married for 25 years and have four high school and college age kids. In their free time, they are both active with tennis and cooking. Their favorite thing is spending time with their family at the beach.

Michelle, Director of Operations

Michelle is a Colorado native having lived in Denver, Pueblo and Colorado Springs and loves all that Colorado has to offer. She is very active in the office and oversees the leadership of the organization and ensures we provide the highest quality caregiving services. Michelle comes from a diverse background; she was Director of Human Resources for a local therapy company and has also been in Business Development positions. She is now serving in her most rewarding role as Director of Operations for Home Instead. Michelle is passionate about exceeding expectations of clients and Care Professionals and sets an example of leadership in her office and the industry. She has earned her degree in Business Management and Human Resources. In her spare time, Michelle enjoys giving back to the community through philanthropy, cooking, gardening and most importantly spending time with her family and friends.

Zachary, Client Care Coordinator

Zach is originally from New Mexico but moved to Colorado Springs in 2005. In 2009 he started his professional career as a Certified Nurse Aid and over the course of the past 12 years he has gained experience working within many levels of care ranging from home health, long-term care, to outpatient rehab. Zach has extensive training and experience working with Dementia and Alzheimer's, Parkinson's Disease, End of Life Care, Restorative Care and more. His fundamental knowledge of the industry allows him to support Care Professionals as they work with clients while working to maintain the highest quality of care for the CLs and families Home Instead serves. Zach believes in promoting the independence of aging adults as well as growing strong and strong, lasting relationships to accomplish this goal.

Brittaney, Service Coordinator

Born and raised in Manteca, California, Brittaney has always had a passion for helping others. With experience working at a rehab center and as a Social Service Assistant in a senior community, Brittaney continues her dedication in serving seniors and their families. Making the most of every moment, she loves listening to clients' stories and seeing them smile. Brittaney and her husband recently moved to Colorado Springs for her husband’s service in the military. Brittaney is dedicated to her role at Home Instead, making a difference in the everyday lives of seniors in Colorado Springs.

Amber 1

Amber, Service Coordinator

Amber was born and raised in Cheyenne, Wyoming and has dedicated 19 years to the medical field as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Her experience ranges from working in hospitals, home health, home hospice care, and serving as a Telemetry Technician. Amber also has a strong passion for the four legged members of this world and has dedicated much of her free time to the rescue, fostering, and rehabilitation of Pit Bulls. Amber and her husband moved to Colorado Springs in 2020 and she has made it her mission to provide a positive difference for the senior members of our community.

Erin, HR Manager

Erin was born and raised in Orange County, California and has always been committed to making a difference in her community through volunteer work with various local and national organizations. Erin earned her bachelor's degree in psychology at Northern Arizona University, while also gaining administrative experience working at the university's College of Business. With a passion and eagerness to make a difference in the lives of seniors, Erin began her work with Home Instead as a Care Professional for the Greatest Generation. She continues to strive to help others in her community through caring for seniors and building relationships with them and their families.

Ashley, Recruitment Coordinator

Ashley moved to Colorado Springs at the age of 3 and has lived here ever since. She was raised in a home daycare that her mother owned and she realized at a young age that she had a passion for caregiving. Ashley went on to provide care for children in child development centers as well as caring for some of her own aging family members. She then gained administrative experience working in various fields such as corporate insurance and the financial industry. Now, she continues to grow in her administrative career working as the HR Recruitment Coordinator for Home Instead. In her spare time, Ashley enjoys cooking, dancing, kickboxing, going to the gym, and spending quality time with friends and family.

Vernetta, Training Coordinator

Vernetta has a love for Colorado, her native home, where she was raised in Denver and Colorado Springs. She started caring for others at a very early age. In 1984 she began a long-time career in health care. Vernetta is a Certified Nurse Assistant and worked for a Long-Term Care Community, supporting individuals with a wide range of debilities. In 1988 she started working with Denver Health Medical Center as an Emergency Medical Technician serving for 31 years. Vernetta has a strong passion for caring for clients and believes in living life to the fullest, giving and learning from life experiences. She enjoys going on cruises, dancing, sharing time with family, and making others laugh.
