isaac s sequim 2026

Isaac Schmidt, Franchise Owner

Growing up in Sequim, my childhood was shaped by the outdoors — days spent at Railroad Bridge Park, fishing and hunting with my dad, and summers at Lake Sutherland and Lake Crescent. Those experiences taught me patience, appreciation for simple moments, and the importance of family and community.

I’ve always had a special place in my heart for seniors. Watching my mother care for both my great-grandmother and grandmother showed me firsthand both the challenges and the deep rewards that come with caring for others. One memory especially stays with me forever: while caring for my grandmother during her battle with dementia, she suddenly looked at me and called me “Isaac.” For a brief moment, she remembered exactly who I was. My mouth hit the floor, and my heart was completely full. Just moments later, the memory faded again — but that moment of connection is something I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

kim 2026

Kim Cleary, General Manager

I began my journey with Home Instead in 2016 as a caregiver, a role I truly loved because it allowed me to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients. From there, I transitioned into the office as a scheduler, where I continued supporting clients while building strong relationships with our caregiving team.

As my experience grew, I stepped into the role of Recruitment and Engagement Coordinator, helping recruit, support, and encourage compassionate caregivers. A few years later, I became a Community Instructor, enabling our office to provide HCA training and credentialing opportunities for caregivers pursuing their professional development.

Today, I’m proud to serve as the General Manager of our franchise, where I bring together the skills, knowledge, and experience I’ve gained over the past decade to support both our clients and our team.

Laura Christenson 2025

Laura Christenson, Client Care Advisor

For nearly 20 years, Laura has been visiting with new clients and family members performing needs assessments and recommendations for a person-centered plan of care. Once the client is established and the plan of care is being implemented, she performs regular follow-up evaluations to ensure our high quality of care standards are being met. She also provides support for both the client and Caregiver when they have concerns or questions. Laura has a degree in Psychology and has worked as both a parent educator and parent coach. Before moving to the Olympic Peninsula, she spent 20 years in Switzerland where she taught ESL for all ages, taught a French/English kindergarten class and worked as a family counselor. Laura can be reached at [email protected].

Vera Uy 2025

Vera Uy, Recruitment Coordinator

With a background in banking and client services, I’ve developed a strong focus on building relationships, solving problems, and paying attention to the details that matter. Now transitioning to the role of Recruitment Coordinator for an in-home care provider, I’m excited to help connect compassionate caregivers with families who truly need them. Outside of work, I have a passion for flowers and love creating floral arrangements. It’s a creative outlet that reminds me to find beauty in the little things—a mindset I bring to both my professional and personal life.  Vera can be reached at [email protected].

Jade Tassie 2025

Jade Tassie, Service Manager

I grew up in Southeast Ohio and moved to the Olympic Peninsula four years ago to be with family. I attended Ohio University for Child and Family studies. Before working as a caregiver in Sequim, I worked at a Chemical Dependency Rehabilitation Center for Women in rural Ohio for 6 years as a Support Specialist. I also participated as a Team Leader in after school programs for at risk youth.

After caregiving for a few years with Home Instead I transitioned to the scheduling team and now am the Service Manager for all the Care Pros. I enjoy camping, gardening, and spending time with my cats. Jade can be reached at [email protected]

Ava Uy Millare 2025

Ava Uy-Millare, Office Coordinator

Gloria Gordon 2025

Gloria Gordon, Care Pro Supervisor & Scheduler

My name is Gloria Gordon. I have worked with Home Instead since 2022 as a caregiver. In 2025, I have been working as the Service Coordinator. I miss interacting with my clients, but I do get to talk to them on the phone sometimes. I have previously worked in the hospital setting for 30+ years. I worked in different departments such as Registrar for Emergency Department, Main Admitting, Physical Therapy and outpatient services. I enjoy working with the public. When the opportunity presents itself, I try to make my clients/customers smile or laugh.

I am married to my best friend, sometimes he's my only friend. We have a dog named Cleo. She is a mixed of NW Farm Terrier/Boarder Collie. She has us trained very well. She is 9 years old. We also have a cat. Her name is Mama Cat. When she's hungry and it's feeding time, she likes to stretch her MEEEEOOOOWWWW to make sure that we know it's time to eat. We also have a rooster named Harley and several chickens. Too many to name. In my free time, I like to crochet and work on jigsaw puzzles.

Gloria can be reached at [email protected]

Clara

Clara D. Bawddy, Training Specialist

Clara is the in-house training expert for the team. Her dedication is exemplified by always being the first person at the office in the morning and the last to leave, begging the question, "Does she ever go home?" Her dedication has become almost obsessive. Case in point, when we have a meeting or a party, the office staff would literally have to drag her from the training room.

Clara feels she was just made to help people learn. Rather than lecturing, she focuses on "hands-on" demonstration of techniques to CAREGivers. She has never missed a training class and her consistent involvement in the office has earned her our deepest gratitude and respect. She has developed quite a tough skin as over the years she's been dropped and, sorry to say, shoved aside. She is an example of quiet strength to us all. Thank you, Clara, for your devotion to our team.

Fun fact! When Clara joined us, we were impressed by her credentials and references. But what really caught our eye was that she comes from a family of renown. Her great-grandmother stood proudly at Bloomingdales for many years and her uncle was the first crash test dummy. ;)
