Lance Summey
MSW
Lance first arrived in Waco in 2006 to pursue graduate studies at Baylor University. After earning his Master's in Social Work, he worked in Washington, DC, as well as internationally in India and Thailand. He later returned to Waco to be closer to his family, as his mother was fighting breast cancer. Lance was raised in a household where caring for others was always a central conversation. He understands both the perspective of a family member needing access to quality care and the responsibilities of being a caregiver. He vividly recalls visits to care facilities and family discussions about his grandmother, who had Multiple Sclerosis. Those experiences instilled in him the importance of distinguishing between basic care and high-quality care-something he carries with him to this day. Lance chose Home Instead because he deeply values the comprehensive support they provide to clients, CAREPros, and families. He takes pride in offering the resources and benefits that come from being part of the world's largest non-medical home care network. Whether through operational and care standards, educational resources, or advanced technologies, Lance finds fulfillment in connecting families with all that Home Instead offers. Additionally, he is a certified End of Life Doula. Lance is also active in his community, participating in several civic organizations and is a graduate of Leadership Waco through the Waco Chamber of Commerce.
