Service Coordinator, Rebecca Stracener

Rebecca Stracener has been an award-winning caregiver for more than 20 years. Four months after joining Home Instead® of Victoria, Rebecca was honored as the Care Professional of the Month for November 2019. “I loved working as a Care Pro, and I didn’t think wild horses could pull me away from that,” Rebecca said.

In October 2021, Rebecca took on a new challenge, becoming the service coordinator, at the encouragement of co-owners Pietro Jordao and Dillon Rice. They wanted to draw on Rebecca’s experience and wisdom to help “skipper” the highly successful franchise’s operation.

Rebecca explained: “I work on scheduling for our clients and Care Pros. I look for the best fits. It helps to have been a Care Pro previously. I know the personalities of many of the clients and with whom they might thrive. I’ve always been helping seniors, and I still am doing that some of time.”

Rebecca took the staff position as the threat of COVID-19 continued. With a number of precautions and high standards of care in place, Rebecca was certain the Care Pros could meet every challenge. “COVID-19 presented a scheduling nightmare for a little while. There was a lot of constant worry with COVID-19. I think we have worked beyond that.”

Noting she is behind a desk for the first time since 2002, Rebecca said, “Everything is fine, and the transition has gone well. I’m a people person. That’s my passion.”

Rebecca has made a career of helping people. She has been a licensed CNA for the past 19 years and spent eight years at a skilled care community. For six years, she worked at a hospital, where her versatility was evident while working in the cancer ward, cardiac floor and anywhere else she was needed. “I have a heart for the elderly. I love the fact we can provide good care for seniors and help their families,” she said.
