I enjoy helping people. Treating people right matters; especially such a vulnerable population as seniors. Born and raised in East Texas, I began my career fighting hunger and poverty in developing world communities - primarily in the Middle East and Southeast Asia. After a couple of years, my late wife, Ashley, and I started a family so I decided to pursue a career closer to home. With a Masters in Wildlife Management, I went to work as a wildlife officer and biologist for Colorado Division of Wildlife. That is where my passion for bears began. Later, I had the opportunity to work as a large carnivore biologist with the federally threatened Louisiana Black Bear which, I'm proud to say, was eventually delisted. Feel free to ask me for some good bear stories. I have plenty of them! Though I planned to spend the remainder of my career working with bears, things changed radically when my wife unexpectedly passed away following a brief illness. My four children and I moved back to Tyler, Texas where I had support from grandparents in raising my young family. Since then, I met my wife, Ellen. As we were looking for a way to have a positive impact on the lives of others, Home Instead came along. We feel truly blessed to have found this opportunity to serve our community. When I'm not working, I love spending time with my family. I also enjoy spending time outdoors hiking, camping and hunting. Some of my hobbies include woodworking and leather crafting. My email is [email protected] . Would love to answer any of your questions.

My husband says relationships are the only thing you take with you into eternity. I agree. So I spend my free time with family, friends and volunteer work. Some of my long-time favorite non-profits include Literacy Council of Tyler, Bethesda Health Clinic, Women's Fund of Smith County, Young Life Africa and Leadership Tyler. I love people. There is nothing better to me than a one-on-one conversation with lots of stories shared. The definition of "hospitality" is to love a stranger. That is how I was raised and how I hope we are raising our children. My life mission is to have as big of a positive impact on as many people as possible. The time I spend at work and play are both geared toward this mission. If you haven't figured it out yet, Home Instead's desire to enrich the lives of seniors living in our community fits perfectly with my heart. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you.
