Lorena Shensky MSN, FNP-BC & William Shensky, Franchise Owners
Lorena's journey in senior care began with a deeply personal experience: witnessing her grandmother's struggle with dementia and her family's challenges in finding reliable care at home. Motivated by this, she pursued a Bachelor’s in Healthcare Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UT Rio Grande Valley. After graduation, Lorena started her career as a floor nurse at a transplant hospital in San Antonio before transitioning to hospice nursing in 2017 and later obtaining her Master's in Nursing from Texas A&M Corpus Christi in 2021.
Throughout her nursing career, especially in hospice care, Lorena observed the gap in support for seniors living at home and the strain on family caregivers. Determined to make a difference, she wanted to help seniors maintain independence in their own homes for as long as possible.
In discussions with her husband, William, they both recognized a shared desire to address these challenges and provide quality home care for seniors. This shared passion led them to pursue opportunities with Home Instead in Midland, Texas, with the goal of serving the West Texas community with compassionate and reliable care.
Lorena and William are driven by a shared vision to positively impact the lives of seniors and their families in West Texas. Their commitment to providing quality care reflects their dedication to enhancing the well-being and independence of those they serve.
In June of 2024, recognizing the significant need for quality in-home care in San Angelo, Lorena and William decided to expand their service territory. They have opened a new location in San Angelo, TX, furthering their commitment to providing exceptional care and support to seniors in the area.

Geordas Ramirez, Lead Care Professional
Geordas "G" Ramirez proudly serves as the Lead Care Professional at Home Instead. After graduating high school, she moved to San Angelo in 2024, initially unsure of the direction she wanted to take in her career. While she had always known she had a passion for helping others, she was uncertain which field would allow her to truly make a meaningful impact.
That uncertainty changed when she joined Home Instead. From the very beginning, she was welcomed by a team of kind and supportive individuals who believed in her and provided an opportunity despite her limited caregiving experience. Their trust and encouragement opened the door to a career that quickly became much more than just a job.
As she began working as a caregiver, Geordas discovered how deeply fulfilling it was to care for seniors and serve as a source of comfort, companionship, and support in their daily lives. Through this experience, she realized she wanted to continue growing in the field and further her education in elderly care. With the unwavering support of her team—who worked around her schedule and consistently encouraged her development—she successfully earned her CNA license.
Today, as Lead Care Professional, Geordas has the privilege of interviewing new caregivers, assisting with orientations and trainings, and continuing to provide hands-on care for clients while furthering her education. Choosing Home Instead proved to be one of the best decisions she has made, as it provided not only a clear career path, but also a sense of purpose, a supportive community, and the opportunity to positively impact the lives of others every day.
