After a long history in marketing with medical companies, in 1996 Darrell and his wife Susan decided to purchase the local Home Instead franchise. Darrell's success has been chronicled over the years with several industry and franchise awards, but in the midst of such accolades, his top priority has always been giving back to the community. This genuine compassion for the well-being of others is especially evident in the time he and Susan contribute to the local Boys and Girls Club, the American Heart Association, and the Alzheimer's Association.

This company embodies my favorite Latin phrase "ad meliorem vitam aliorum " which means " to improve the lives of others." The team here goes above and beyond trying to provide the best support that we can to the people we serve. Coming from a family of caregivers, I am very thankful to be a part of a team that genuinely cares about the communities we serve.

Home Instead is personal to me because I always wanted to help disabled and elderly people. I grew up taking care of my grandmother who was disabled and elderly and I saw how it can affect the family also. My position at Home Instead is not hands-on but Administrative work. As an Administrator, I can still make their lives easier by taking care of their home health paperwork to ensure they receive their services as needed. I am willing to be their Administrative Advocate, so they know someone cares about even the smallest details of their home health care.

Home Instead is personal to me because in this life you get out what you put in. Every religion disagrees about different things but one thing every religion has in common is the golden rule, "Treat others as you want to be treated." Everyday it's personal to me because by helping others, no matter if its seniors or our awesome team of caregivers, we are making a positive impact in the world one life at a time. Every day I have to privilege to sow the seeds of care and watch our caregivers water the seed and see our seniors reap the harvest of care.
