Home Instead History & Mission
Creating a Better What’s Next
In 2023, Home Instead of the Black Hills began a new chapter with a clear purpose: to help address the growing aging crisis in our community while building a workplace where Care Professionals are respected, supported, and empowered to turn caregiving into a meaningful career.
We believe families deserve clarity, responsiveness, and peace of mind — knowing their loved one is safe, valued, and cared for with dignity at home.
We also believe Care Pros deserve strong leadership, professional training, competitive pay, career advancement, recognition, and a healthy work-life balance. When caregivers are supported, exceptional care follows.
That’s why we are committed to creating a better What’s Next — for our clients, our Care Pros, and the Black Hills community we proudly serve.
To Us, It’s Personal®
Our founders, Paul and Lori Hogan, launched Home Instead in 1994 to provide care to Paul’s 90-year-old grandmother. Remarkably, after she began receiving personalized, in-home care that allowed her to age safely in the place she loved most – the family home – Grandma Manhart thrived for an additional decade!
That’s why, to us, senior care is personal. We’re passionate about expanding the world’s capacity to care.
