Marcia Johnson

Owner / Director

Marcia attended Adelphi University and earned a Bachelor degree in Business Administration. After 15 years in the private sector she when back to school and earned a Master in Education from Brooklyn College. She went to work as an Elementary School Teacher in the New York City Public School. Home Instead Senior Care-Brooklyn opened its doors in July 2003. Marcia wanted to make a difference in the lives of seniors, families and communities. She also knew, from personal experience, the difficulties associated with aging loved ones. Marcia's grandmother also suffered from Alzheimer's / Dementia. After 10 years+, and counting, her office have worked with over 600 families, performing over 600,000 hours of home care services in the Brooklyn community. Marcia is committed to helping enhance the quality of life for older adults and their families.

Candee Gelo-Piscitelli

Staff Coordinator

Candee is responsible for managing our Caregivers. She manages the scheduling, training, recruitment and retention, and interacts with our clients and family members on a regular basis. Candee has over 22 years of experience working in the Health Care Industry. She has knowledge of Medicare / Medicaid billing and extensive experience in dealing with medical equipment. Candee brings her compassionate sprit and caring character to her role.

Our CAREGivers are the heart of what we do. Dedication, compassion and trustworthiness are key characteristic. Each takes part in our exclusive multi-phase training which includes our Alzheimer's / Dementia training program. We place a high priority on matching our CAREGivers with our clients. Our goal is to nurture and develop a bond that will foster client's independence while enhancing quality of life at home, during the aging process. Our CAREGivers are carefully screened, fully bonded and insured.
