Nerissia M, Home Instead Chapel Hill

Nerissia began her career as a nursing assistant, and later received a degree in education. In addition to caregiving, she supports Durham Public Schools as a teacher. Nerissia is CPR and First Aid certified.

“I’ve always wanted to be a nurse and love people. After losing both my parents, caregiving gave me purpose again. I enjoy being with older adults and learning from them. The appreciation they show—just a thank you—means the world to me. My favorite part is companionship: we talk, share stories, and connect. I’ve learned never to underestimate someone’s potential.”
