George Cestia

Owner

George Cestia has been the franchise owner of Home Instead Senior Care since May 2003. He holds a BS in Finance from UL - Lafayette and a MBA from LSU. George is an active owner in the business and in the community. Together with his wife Katie, they have identical twin little girls, Louise and Frances.

Melissa Cannon

Inquiry, & Operations Specialist

Melissa K. Cannon has been with HISC since 2005 and is the Billing, Inquiry, & Operations Specialist. She has held the positions of Recruiter and Staff Coordinator prior to working in her present position. Having worked her entire career in the business administrative field, she brings over 30 years' experience to her position. Because of having had CAREGivers for family members in the past, Melissa feels she relates to both side of our business. Melissa and Todd have been married over 40 years. They have 2 grown children who are married and 7 grandchildren.

​Brooke Melerine has worked as Office Manager, CPR/BLS/AED Instructor, Recruiting and Engagement Coordinator, and recently as the Client Care Coordinator. Brooke brings with her almost 11 years of Medical Office experience. She discovered her drive and persistence works perfectly with the industry and compassion for our Clients and their families. Brooke resides in Lacassine with her husband Beau and 4 children; John, Kenzi, Liam, and Beckett.

Colleen Cherhoniak

Quality Assurance and Training

​Colleen joined Home Instead in 2020. She is registered nurse with more than 35 years experience in cardiac care, mental health, and behavior health fields. She joins the team in a quality assurance and training role. When not working Colleen enjoys spending time with her two grandchildren.

Administrative Asst / Assistant Recruiter and Training

Shawana Kately is a dedicated Administrative Assistant with over 20 years of experience in administrative support and a strong background in case management. Currently she's leveraging her skills at Home Instead since 2025, providing support to office staff. Shawana holds an Associate's Degree in Business Management. Shawana is devoted to her family, happily married for 29 years. She cherishes spending quality time with her two children and four granddaughters.

Charlene White is an enthusiastic and innovative professional with over 15 years experience in human resources, mental health, behavioral health and as a staffing coordinator. Charlene has been employed with Home Instead since 2022 and is passionate about her position as the Recruiter and Retention Coordinator/ Human Resources. She has worked on expanding Home Instead Care Pros and making everyone's experience with Home Instead a rewarding one. Charlene is married and mother of three girls : Sierra, Alyssa and Madison.

Alexis joined HomeInstead in May of 2024 as Service Coordinator. With a background in healthcare, Alexis spent several years honing strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, which seamlessly transitioned into her current role as a service coordinator. In this capacity, Alexis excels at connecting with people, providing clear communication, and offering effective solutions. Known for her ability to listen attentively and communicate empathetically, she brings a sense of calm and confidence to every interaction. Outside of work, Alexis enjoys spending time with her dogs, playing guitar, and discovering new outdoor adventures.

With 15 years of experience as a registered nurse, Katelyn built a career grounded in compassion, problem-solving, and patient-centered care. Her unique background allows her to bridge the gap between healthcare and business, creating solutions that are both effective and human-centered. Katelyn graduated from McNeese State University, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Registered Nurse degree. Katelyn resides in Lake Charles with her husband and 2 children.
