Theresa Gramkow

Owner

Theresa is the franchise owner of Home Instead. She purchased the franchise in December 2020 and relocated the office to Spencer, Iowa. Over the past five years, she has expanded the franchise territory to include two additional counties. Theresa and her husband, Matt, moved their family from Avoca, IA to Milford, IA. They have three children: Bree, Cora, and Kingston. In her free time, Theresa enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also loves boating, gardening, and a variety of outdoor activities. Additionally, she likes to engage in various crafts during her downtime. Theresa has a passion and vision for keeping people in their homes, where they are happiest.

Rachel Mathias

General Manager

Rachel is the General Manager of Home Instead, a position she has held since July 2021. When Rachel was hired, she was the Client Care Consultant and enjoyed working with clients and their families. Rachel and her husband Lee live in Milford, and have three children: Hunter, Hilary, and Tanner. In her free time, Rachel enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys gardening, fishing, and taking her grand dogs for walks, along with a variety of outdoor activities. Rachel is dedicated to caring for others and always strives to make a positive impact on their lives.

Cora Gramkow

Recruitment and Engagement Coordinator

Cora joined Home Instead in May 2021 as a Care Professional. In December 2025 she joined our office team as our Recruitment and Engagement Coordinator. Cora lives in Estherville and has one fur baby named Aspen. Cora spends her free time enjoying the outdoors such as skiing, boating and softball. Cora is dedicated to building a supportive group of care professionals that focuses entirely on the patient and families alike.

Courtney H., Home Instead Spencer, IA

In Spencer, Courtney H has become a trusted companion for local seniors and their families. Courtney comes to us with a background in i have worked in healthcare since 2016. i worked with all ages of people with autism/down syndrome for a few years and then i worked at a nursing home i started out as a feed assistant while in the process of getting my cna. shortly after getting my cna i chose to work in the memory care unit of the facility. my grandma had dementia and i felt i would be a good fit in memory care after seeing what my grandma had went through for years.. With 3 years at Home Instead, Courtney has built relationships rooted in trust, compassion, and shared joy.

For Courtney, the reward is in the connection. "Being able to support them in the comfort of their own homes," Courtney shares. Through these shared moments, Courtney has learned valuable life lessons, noting, "Live your life now because time flies."

Courtney's daily goal is simple: ensure every client feels safe, comfortable, and cared for. Skilled in i feel i am skilled in any situation, my grandma had dementia for several years, and the nursing home i worked at i worked in the memory care unit full time and absolutely loved what i did. watching what my grandma went through really opened my eyes shortly after my grandma went to the nursing home i became a cna i wanted to help the elderly. through the years i have spent alot of time with end-of-life residents my grandma included, being able to comfort those in their last moments sharing laughs, smiles, tears, and memories with them feels like such an honor. the reason i enjoy home health is it gives myself and my clients the opportunity to have that one on one companionship., Courtney finds joy in the details of each visit. "Seeing the smile on my clients faces," Courtney says of a typical day.

Courtney praises the local team for their dedication and communication. "I really appreciate how since I've been hired I've always felt appreciated from the office ladies they always check in to see how things are going for us caregivers as well that to me personally stands out because they care about our opinions, we all work together as a team," Courtney notes. "I'm really proud when I hear clients compliment how nice all of the caregivers are through Home Instead. It's a great feeling knowing we all are working together to make a difference. And the office ladies, for all the hard work they do, getting us where we need to go and working with everyone and their availability."
