Angela Sales is a Recruitment Specialist supporting Home Instead Waukee and Ames, where she helps connect compassionate, dependable Care Professionals with meaningful opportunities to serve older adults throughout Boone, Story, Dallas, Madison, and Warren Counties. As one of the first people applicants meet during their journey with Home Instead, Angela is passionate about creating a recruitment experience that feels personal, welcoming, and centered around finding the right fit — for both the Care Professional and the clients they may one day serve.
With an outgoing personality and a genuine love for connecting with people, Angela leads candidate screening and interviews with a conversational approach. She enjoys learning about each applicant’s experience, availability, strengths, and story while identifying individuals who have both the skills and heart to provide exceptional in-home care. Candidates often share that Angela makes interviews feel comfortable and natural, something she believes is important in helping people feel seen and valued rather than simply becoming another application in the hiring process.
Angela’s connection to Home Instead extends beyond her current role. Her previous experience with Home Instead in the United Kingdom gave her the opportunity to learn from supportive leaders who encouraged curiosity, growth, and confidence. Those experiences continue to shape the way she approaches recruitment and teamwork today — with responsiveness, patience, communication, and a willingness to step in wherever she can help.
Of Home Instead’s core values, compassion resonates most deeply with Angela. To her, compassion is more than understanding what someone may be experiencing; it is choosing to act on that understanding. That belief is at the heart of why recruitment matters to her. In addition to recruitment, Angela brings her creativity to BHC Inc.’s social media presence, helping develop videos, graphics, and content that share the people, purpose, and culture behind Home Instead. She especially enjoys the opportunity to shift gears creatively and collaborate with others to tell the story of the work happening across the organization.
Outside of work, Angela is deeply involved in her church, where she leads its marketing ministry and a small group for women. She enjoys photography, creating and editing social media content, walking, running, and signing up for fun runs — with the medals to prove it. She is also the very proud cat mom of a 14-year-old senior cat who is eyeless, missing a few teeth, and, according to Angela, just a little snobby.
Whether she is welcoming a new applicant, supporting a teammate, or creating something that makes someone smile, Angela brings warmth, energy, and purpose to her work.
