Butch Merideth established the Windward and Central Oahu office of Home Instead in March of 2015. With a bachelor's degree in organizational communication and public relations and a Master of Science degree in Health Care Management, Butch has worked in the healthcare industry for the past twenty-three years, most recently at Kaiser Permanente Hawai'i Region. The desire to fulfill a passion for service to others led him to Home Instead. "I was looking for a way to utilize my education and professional background to become a community leader through service and assistance to others," Butch said. "My goal is to be a trusted and reliable resource for in-home senior care and an avid advocate for changing the face of aging on our island. I also look forward to providing meaningful jobs to caring people in our community." "I can think of no greater honor than to be able to assist seniors as they age in place and help them maintain the honor and dignity they have earned," Butch said. "Seniors, and those who love them, can look forward to the future knowing that they will have a trusted partner in Home Instead."

I was raised by my grandparents, which shaped my passion for senior care early in life. In 2010, I had the honor of supporting my grandfather during his end-of-life journey-an experience that deeply inspired my commitment to helping seniors and their families. I began my career as a CNA and caregiver, where I developed a deep appreciation for seniors' stories, personal growth, and resilience. With over eight years of experience in senior care, my background includes skilled nursing, assisted living, memory care, and healthcare administration. In 2019, I transitioned into a leadership role, overseeing an assisted living department serving more than 70 residents and supporting a team of 35 staff members. After relocating to Hawaiʻi, I found my home at Home Instead, where I joined the team in December 2024 as a Care Professional II and was later promoted into a role focused on recruiting, training, and supporting caregivers. I am passionate about helping seniors thrive in both small and meaningful ways. In my free time, I enjoy going to the beach, reading, hiking, and spending time with friends and family.

With over 13 years of experience working with seniors, my journey in senior care began as a private caregiver. Over the years, I've had the privilege of serving in a variety of roles, each one deepening my passion for supporting seniors and their families. Much of my career has focused on caring for individuals living with dementia. I have dedicated myself to helping families navigate the complexities and emotional challenges that come with this journey. In addition to providing hands-on care, I've worked closely with caregivers by offering training, resources, and team-building support to ensure the highest level of care for our clients. One of my proudest professional achievements was receiving the Excellence in Caring award from the Alzheimer's Association in Michigan-an honor I hold dear as a reflection of the dedication and compassion I bring to my work. On a personal note, my family recently made the exciting move to Hawaii, where we are helping provide care for our aging grandmother. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family at the beach, hiking, camping, crafting, and traveling to visit loved ones. I am excited to bring my years of experience and passion for senior care to 797 and look forward to walking alongside families as they navigate their unique caregiving journeys.
